I wonder if there is a verision out there which does not suffer from the flashing rainbow background deadlock when ending certain levels. It happened on the real Amiga, on WinUAE too. Even the ipf images have this issue.

I would really want to finish this game.

I think this game would've been much better if alien AI was little better. I mean little more than stupidly run into player and explode (exploding on touch sucks the most).

Anyway, very good dark atmosphere and great background artworks. I used to like this game but never managed to go very far.

We went with school one year to Team 17. It was only the next town over from us so it wasn't a massive day out. Yet it still brings joy to my heart thinking about it cos I got to play Worms before it came out.

This is an amazing game and I still play it now on my A600. Wish I had the cd32 version ;)

I played Alien Breed Tower Assault... a bit.

It may sound silly, but I played that game as a little kid, and it seemed scary to me, and I was afraid to play.

That does sound silly. The game was kinda scary as in you were somewhat fearful for your life because aliens crept up on you from every corner at random (which is kinda the idea).

But it wasn't "this is terrifying me I dont wanna play out of fear" scary.

Anyway...

Long ass intro. Way too much gone onto this intro given that at the end the game is about running around and killing the aliens.

Also...those things were smart enough to figure out how to control and operate the gun sentry towers???

Damn, I was a kid back then. I was... I'm not sure, maybe seven or eight? I played on my pal's computer, it was evening already, and all those aliens and corpses everywhere really influenced my imagination. And I imagined, seeing e.g. people killed in their beds, how it must have looked like.

Actually, if I'm not confusing with some other game, I think in one of the stages there were semi-alive people in their beds, kinda hospitalized-like patients,...so I shot them to put them out of their misery.

tell u what is silly, writing a paragraph about the aliens controlling the the gun sentry towers ha ha ha and complaining about the intro. this game was a classic remember playing this when i was about 16 hope they bring it to xbox live arcade.

If you had actually played the game rather then takesecond guesses at what the reviews or other people have said, you would know the turrets were automated defenses, nobody controls them except the computer.

Also, automated defenses don't automatically target and shoot down anything and everything.

There are things called IFF beacons, if you ever heard about them.

Eitherway, game was good fun.

Defending its intro upto this kind of obsession makes you look rather sad.

In the case of Cannon Fodder, the intro had more meat in it than the game. But it's all good.

I was exactly the same, a kid playing this and I was scared of it at times. Even in the main menu I got a bad feeling, haha. I particular remember the dead people and the blood on this as the thing that got to me. Was still great fun though.

Ah, Tower Assault... I love this game, but holy crap was it tough. I think I only ever managed to beat the... uh, prison tower I think it was. Still, awesome game, and awesome video!

I used to play a similar game on dos but it was before alien breed and it runned on a 286sx with impressive graphics and weapon sounds... i forgot the name :(

The scale is a bit smaller..

It even had a map editor.

Why selecting the retreat mode and don't use it a single time ?? This thing make the games so much easier, instead of running into those aliens and lost energy.
