  • what ever suids your needs, persenaly i so glad i have a chain instead of a belt.

i would not chainge it if they paid me 4k.

  • Rapist

  • LS1s are touched by the hand of God. Great power, great torque, reliable, and great gas mileage!

  • Its funny how many cars the LS engine is finding it way into. Its definitely the "swappers motor" of the decade. Light weight, durable, great hp/tq, inexpensive to maintain and moddify, with decent fuel mileage to boot.

Great swap man. I hope to see some vids of the car in the future. (prefferably NOT from your phone next time)

  • ls1's and other ls motors are popular because they are light, cheap (in some countries) powerful, lots of tourque, mechanically simple while being electronically advanced.

  • @willums70 I understand what ur saying , but it's not true the engine sits right on the axle and seems to be a bit lighter. wouldn't that Improve handling? You just need a LSD and a nice suspension setup and your golden... you might be saying bullshit how can a V8 be lighter than that little 6cylander? Well the E92 M3's V8 is lighter than the previous gen E46's 6cylander. just one example =)

@marcobmwls1 thanks for the Vorshlag site I'm hoping to do one in the next 4 years that helps alot

  • All that production, then shitty cell phone footage.....fail

  • vorshlag sells the kit and its only 4k now, plus a LS1 motor and computer, plus T56 trans, and you can do swap

  • @marcobmwls1~ does the M3 engine have VVT??... if so, what type? (eg. Intake AND exhaust?... infinitely variable or just 2 or 3 positions on each cam?.... variable duration and lift or just variable cam phasing?)

  • @marek0086 The US spec (s50b30US-s52b32) had a single phase intake cam phasing control (VANOS) operated by a hydraulic solenoid, advancing cam timing at mid rpm to give the engine a bit more grunt, returning to rest position at WOT.

Meanwhile rest of the world got the real deal motor(s50b30-s50b32) which amongst other depressing things (for american customers)had a Dual VANOS unit that was a continually adjusting on both intake and exhaust camshafts. No lift till Valvetronic came around ; )

  • if your looking to do this swap. is there a site that sells the kit? like grannyspeedshop does for RX7s?

  • This swap is just as good as the quality of this video.

  • @pshhyeahh

I'd be willing to bet you drive a Neon. Or maybe a Cobalt.

  • @Apollo04103 That's all you can say? Excuse me while I zip your mouth shut... your ignorance is tragically spilling out. Nice try though but you're way off. I'll give you a pat on the back even though you guessed wrong. I don't hate mentally disabled people. I actually encourage them to try until they get it right.

  • @pshhyeahh

Whoa, there! You really ought to be more careful! Now your bigotry is hanging out. So now you're a misinformed hate-monger that drives a boring shitty car.

    Rough, dude.

For serious though, guy... I don't think you'll be "zipping my mouth shut" as you strike me as more of a keyboard commando. I'd bet dollars to donuts, you wouldn't be as bold if you didn't have your screen name to hide behind. So keep trolling youtube, acting tough and pretending you know what you're talking about.

  • For the record, I drive a Nissan 350Z Track Edition, and am currently building an E36/LS1 swap. All provable, if you'd like.

Just in case you were thinking about tossing some witty one liner about what I drive...

  • @Apollo04103 Seems to me you are the one being a "keyboard commando." Talking shit whenever someone disagrees with your opinion. Grow up... it's fucking youtube. "Pretending what I'm talking about" ??? WTF you came after me with zero facts. After looking at other people's comments, it seems your trolling this video. But whatever... GL with your LS1 build. I hope you come across a E36 M turbo that would epically destroy you.

  • @pshhyeahh

First of all, champ... I'm not talking shit. I came with facts, and I came without bigotry and ill-informed quips about cars I know nothing about. See what I did there. You don't deny driving a shitbox. And you think an M3 is somehow special in comparison to an LS1 swapped E36.

Here's a fun fact: LS1 swapped E36's are known in by enthusiasts as "The M3 Killer" and it's not because they like fluffy bunnies.

  • @pshhyeahh

But let's move on... Shall we?

"This swap is just as good as the quality of this video."

You may recognize this quote. You said it, after all.

I have two issues here. First, you have no idea how good or bad this swap is. I doubt you've ever seen this car in person, and also because you imply lack of quality in the workmanship. Second, I would STILL bet against you having any real knowledge of cars in general. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I doubt you even change your own oil.

  • @Apollo04103 It's funny how retarded some "car enthusiasts" are. All you are doing is typing is how "ignorant" I am and you STILL think you're saying facts. I've seen many e30s, e36s, miatas, rx7s, etc get the LSX swap. It's done so commonly now. "I don't deny driving a shitbox" ? You kidding me? Do you know how to read? Maybe you don't, since you think your shit talk and opinions count as facts. I see ZERO facts in any of your replies to me. And plz don't go to LS1Tech and c/p facts from there

  • @pshhyeahh

I'm happy to give you whatever facts you're looking for. Though I am a member of LS1tech, I don't need to copy and paste. But you ARE ignorant. Just saying.

And you HAVEN'T denied driving a shitbox. I said I thought you drove a Neon or Cobalt, to which you replied by insulting people with cognitive disabilities. I don't see how the two relate, but whatever.

You're the one masking your lack of knowledge with shit talk. Or can YOU not read?

  • @Apollo04103 Wow you sure are typing alot there Keyboard Commando! What does my car even have to deal with this argument, but if you must know its a 2nd gen miata. Putting a LS in a miata or rx7 is the only ls swap that I like. I've seen jackasses putting it in a s2k... that's so wrong. Funny how your calling me out so much and still say you're telling me facts. I don't have to prove shit to you since all I did was post my opinion to this video. But its ok, most people from lstech are like that.

  • @pshhyeahh

I'll try to be clearer for you, as you're quite obviously not very bright.

I offered you facts, I'm not throwing them at you.

I insulted your vehicle. And not in a "keyboard commando" (nice overuse of my line, by the way), but instead in a pretty plain and nonchalant way. I'll quote: "I'd be willing to bet you drive a Neon. Or maybe a Cobalt." Although the Miata isn't much better. It's kind of a chick car.

"People from LS1tech are like that."

    ^ Generalize much?

  • @Apollo04103 "I offered you facts." Out of all the replies you sent me, please tell me which quotes you feel are "facts". How's a lightweight, RWD car not much better than the ricers neon or cobalt? Real car guys like that. Obviously you are not one of them. As far as the LS1 tech generalization, it's 100% true. You're proving my point more by endlessly bashing me over the interwebz. Most Chevy guys always have the need to prove to others how "better" their car/engine is. PATHETIC!

  • @pshhyeahh

First, let me just say how funny it is that you're so uppity.

Second, I already answered why your car sucks. It's ugly, and it's driven primarily by women.

As far as facts go, I've sprinkled a few in, but have "offered" as many as you would like. There are far too many facts to simply list.

Point is, sport: You're getting heated, I'm laughing at you, and you're no more well informed than you were to start with.

"This swap is just as good as the quality of this video."

    ^ Indeed.

  • @pshhyeahh

    Here are some facts:

A 1999-2005 Mazda Miata has ~140 BHP (which translates to about 14.9 second 1/4 mile times for this tub)

The above fact is funny because my E36 has more BHP (By roughly 25).

The 1999-2005 Miata's curb weight (at 2387 lbs) is the ONLY thing it has going for it, besides being RWD. However, simply being light and RWD doesn't mean you're fast.

Another fun fact: My 350Z would decimate your Miata. Just saying... Facts are facts, after all.

  • @Apollo04103 You really must be a retard by stating the obvious. No shit a 350Z would destroy a stock 2nd gen miata. Epic face palm.

  • @pshhyeahh

Hey man, you wanted facts. I was just stating one. They're all obvious to me. Though, I'm not sure how being intellectually disabled would make me better at knowing facts. Solid bigotry there, though. Good work. I'm sure your mother is very proud of the hate monger she raised.

Oh hey! Fun fact: Owning a car doesn't make you a "car guy".

I say this, because you display no real knowledge of cars. Yet, you make generalizations and offer (ridiculous) opinions about cars you don't have.

  • @pshhyeahh

And if you think you can win this little debate by getting in "the last word"... I promise you it's gonna be a while. I work overnights at a group home, I have LOTS of time. So please, put forth a bit more effort if you'd like to continue. Calling me a retard every other post when I very clearly know more than you is a bit silly.

  • @Apollo04103 I can tell you have LOTS of time. LOL

  • @pshhyeahh

    TEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!

    Good effort.

    ...Not.

Better luck next time, I guess.

  • @pshhyeahh More facts? Mmkay. You overgeneralize. I'll quote. "Real car guys like that." ^ Really? Because you're so OBVIOUSLY a car "guy" with your sweet Miata. "Obviously you are not one of them." ^ Yeah lots of people randomly rebuild entire cars. "As far as the LS1 tech generalization, it's 100% true." ^ 'nuff said. "Most Chevy guys always have the need to prove to others how "better" their car/engine is." ^ I don't really care for Chevy. The quote speaks for itself.
  • What DO you drive? And don't BS me and tell me you drive a Porsche or some other expensive sports car unless you can prove it. As I said, I'm only too happy to prove mine.

And whilst I'm inquiring, where does your astounding car knowledge come from? Or did you take my advice and google? Is that how you heard of LS1tech? It is one of the first things that come up when searching "LS1" after all. And again, I'm not interested in lies about how you're a pro mechanic. You're very clearly not.

  • good motor for sure

  • tight fit. very impressive. keep up the good work.

  • ls1's are the shit.. I'm dropping one in my 67 Pontiac LeMans.

  • Can't beat the hp/dollar ratio of an LS1, no matter how much you hate American muscle it's the honest truth. Fast for Cheap is my motto!

  • i highly disagree, there is a reason why the LS motors are swaped into just about everything from rat rods to porshes, rx7s, bmw, it because there lighter, cheaper, and produce more hp/trq, if u ever drive a car with a LS motor you will understand.

  • @marcobmwls1

I'll understand in a few months... LS1 being swapped into my '93 RX-7 now. Keeping the ///M stock though lol.

  • @marcobmwls1 That's so true, I drive an LS1 WS6 everyday. I love that engine, all that power, and I can still get 30 mph on the highway when I want to! Unbelievable.

  • Should have put an M5 motor in it, instead they decide to put american crap into a clean euro...

  • @turbotdi2002

Are you kidding? Do you have any idea what an M5 engine would cost? It's like saying: "Oh you bought a Toyota Camry? Probably should have gone with the Porsche 911 Turbo instead."

And judging by your comment about "American crap", I'd wager you don't know much about cars, at all.

  • @Apollo04103 Actually I do and I hate american cars BTW!!!!

  • @turbotdi2002

Oops, careful there... Your lack of knowledge is showing. Might wanna zip that up.

  • @Apollo04103 Cause I hate american cars I have a lack of knowledge....OK u need to zip it up ur not making sense

  • @turbotdi2002

Oops! There it is again! Careful now.

  • Awesome swap. Fits like it belongs there.

  • I have a 2.8, and have had to replace a heap of stuff. I love it, but my bro and his LS1, well he does nothing but get in and drive, its gruffier, not as 'sweet', but overall he has more torque and much much better reliability than I do. Overall if the cost pushes you towards an LS1 fitting then its a no brainer.

  • lol. dont worry about haters. they dont get it. and never will. to them, turbo's are the world. not even those dumb 240sx lovers who throw rb25det in the bay, when it could b a LS3T pushing almost 150hp more over the nissan. not to mention torque. insain. and. tbh. the swap is almost x2 as fucking easy. so yes. like a retard on viagra. i will stick it in anything, because the LS motors are one of THE top motors in the industry... ricer fags.. i wont even mention the new LS9. that would b unfair.

  • whats with everyone hating on the LS1....its a hella good engine and its probably better than a lot of BMW engines output and reliability wise. (BMW fanboys) -NO NO NO IMPOSSIBLE

  • I plan on doing the same swap when my '97's engine finally dies, The S52 is great, but it's too expensive to rebuild and make real power with that motor.

  • LS1is abround 20lb lighter, BMW block is cast iron with alum head, LS1 all alum. LS1 is a v8 5.7L / bmw is 3.0L 6cyc. LS1 is shorter in length, so its weight sits more over the front axle toward the center of the car giving a better weight distribution. I love BMW's motors, well built and can be modified to run just as fast and strong and long, drive any thing with a LS motor you will know why i did it. that torque just puts a grin on my face i never had with any other car.

  • I love it! fukin haters.. here is the bottom line when he pulls this up to your stock bmw you will get your dick pounded in the dirt by American power thats how it is and always will be. then your girlfriend will look at you with total disappointment. but what else is new?

  • yea i ruined one of the best handling cars ever made by giving it a lighter motor that has more torque and over 100 more horse power, what was i thinking.

  • LOL, tell 'em marco. LS1s find there way into every damn car out there because it is such an excellent engine. Some people are just too ignorant to realize it.

  • is the ls1 really lighter and how much does this swap run.

  • @marcobmwls1 best comment ever lmao

  • FUCk !

    Rednex fuck-up another M3 !

  • they ruined an m3 D:

  • @fatdudefoshizzle

Yeah, adding 100+ horsepower and 150 ft lb of torque really ruined it

  • @willums70 Yea why would you ruin a perfectly good m3 with some shit american engine...why not stick it in something else.

  • Um, what's "shit" about an LS1 vs a 25 year old BMW engine design? the LS1 not only outpowers the S50, but it gets better fuel economy as well. Don't believe me? Look up fuel consumption for a '95 M3 and a '97 Corvette. Get bent, the guy built something cool, and now you're just being a fag.

  • @willums70 Would be even worse if it was an e46 or an e30...Ls1s are like retards on viagra they'll stick it in anything.

  • fuck them man no point in trying to explain wen they run out of money to make power like a ls1 then they will come around i think the idea is great

  • @willums70

    NO! He improved it....

  • muscle on a euro tuner especially bmw :(

    M POWER

  • from wich car is the Ls1 original??

  • the corvette

  • corvette

  • Awesome.

  • any more vids coming

  • nice, the LS1. Like a retard on viagra they'll stick it in anything.

  • @bpowersman5000 It's better than any BMW straight 6 and believe it or not, about the same weight as the M52B28. It is shorter than the six as well.

  • love the tunes guys, just makes it sicker...

  • well done guys ! check my e36ls1 RHD at corvette vs ls1 bmw . guess theres more than the 2 we built ! one coupe ,one cab

  • it is from the "death proof" sound track

jack nitzsche - the last race

  • cool video...i hope to build one in the future...what song is this?
