  • yeah baby...........that is the Heppell pool............right there by the covered bridge.

was living just down the road to next pool Matalik for 15 years.great river great fishing.

  • @flymancanada Hey flyman, I must have met you there some time in the past. I fished there every summer for 10 years from 1970 on

  • What time of year was this. My dad and I looked at this pool. Were you fishing the downside part of the pool?Below the bridge? There were no fish last year when we were there and no water.

  • @redbutbearhair This is such a great pool with easy access. In 1984 I arrived at the pool just as an American was leaving, stat ing that there were no fish there. Well, as luck would have it, on my first few casts, I hooked into a monster. Had no net, but the American dude had a tailer and although it snapped when he tried to help, he was able to scoop my 35 lb fish onto the shore! My favourite pool by far. Also my buddy Rick caught a 30 lb fish a couple years prior.

  • I would stabbed it in the head, took it home filleted it and ate it

    yum

  • Nice to see her released. Last time up there fishing Heppel i watched a Hen of 17 or 18lb killed and bagged!!!

5 years now since i've been to matapedia and Heppel looks to have filled in on the right bank

  • What pool on the Matapedia? From what I have seen of the river wading is near impossible.

  • the pools name is Heppel, the river is very wadable. even in high water there are plenty of pools you can still fish. hyw. 132 runs along the entire river and there a paking spots at almost every pool, which are numbered and are maked on a map the zec office will give you. enjoy

  • we fish all top water here, they love to rise...my vid i shot couple days ago shows several rise for dry and wet flys..we actualy hitch the fly on the same side headof the fly just behind the eye(hook pointed down river) as the bank your standing on and cast downriver 45 degre angle to make it skim the surface making a v ...they love it and will hit it much more than the wet technique used elsewhere my vids called.. atlantic salmon action rise to the fly you might enjoy it...Nice vid by the way
