@Belba04 I disagree. While I love her, Scotty had a more polished sound by the end of Idol. The only singers I can compare him to are Josh Turner and Randy Travis. Lauren I can compare to a LOT of people. She's grown a ton since then and I love her voice, but Scotty was right to win. Besides, coming in second had no effect on her rise to stardom anyway. She's doing great and I'm so happy for her.

i hate to say it.....but i dont think there has been a better voice on this show than Clay Aiken. Love him or hate him he has a pure strong voice that in my opinion soars over all other contestants. Too bad his musical career hasn't exactly been deserving of how great of a tone he truly has. Congrats to all this seasons vocalists

This was such a lovely, beautiful moment! My mum was in tears watching this and she doesn't cry over nothing. It would have been so amazing if Lauren had won and this was the winning single. In my opinion this is a much better single than the actual winning single, sorry but Scotty's song does nothing for me, in one ear and out the other I'm afraid. Anyway I love Lauren so much for not being embarrassed to sing about how much her mother means to her.

Even if Scotty would have sang the exact same song same lyrics it still wouldn't have been as beautifully sung as Lauren. He had a great and emotional song as well but Laurens vocals are hands down so much better. They both have the choice to do whatever they want in their performance and Scotty chose to not do anything. Even though it makes more sense for Lauren to go and sing to her mother, scotty had the choice to do it too

I like Lauren but tonight was a total set up for her to win. From the artist song chices for them to the pandering last song she sang. To have allow her to go into the audience and sing to her mom was terrible and completely planed by the show as Ryan moved toward her and aided her down the steps to make sure she did not fall. Combine that with the vocal chord thing which if it were so she could never have sung as it would possible ruin any career possibilities for her in the future.
