It's still quicker to mine with TNT :)... well sorta- you collect sand MUCH quicker but leave a lot behind.

I Wonder if it's quicker if you account for each tnt used is -4 sand?

You haven't even used the only method of sand mining worth telling people about, viz. digging the lowest block of a column of sand and placing a torch underneath before the column starts to fall, thereby removing the entire column with only 1 dig and without having to mine underneath. I've never even played or heard of minecraft before and I knew that. I've never even seen Star Wars or listened to Buddy Holly.

@buckie92 Inventory editing. It's especially easy in SMP where admins can issue a command to give a player a quantity of a specific block type, even if blocks of that type can't normally be picked up.

@buckie92 We, of the Blokistan server, take great pride in not cheating anything. Luckily, we have started a cult on the server, worshiping the creator, known as Blok. If we pray to him and burn chickens with flint and steel, he grants us water (buckets still broke in SMP). Praise Blok, the six sided one!
