The initial objective was to defend south vietnam from communist aggression. This objective failed. Wars are not only won by battlefield munitions, strategy plays a major part. Our men and women did all that was asked and more. The same thing will happen in the current " armed conflicts". The troops would have taken Hanoi if asked .
