We take our war heroes very seriously. We're proud of all our fighting soldiers, living and deceased. Wouldn't it be great if wars could be fought by the idiots who start them?

I am glad Lee Greenwood sang this song, but no offence, I would much rather a Canadian artist sing this song. Great song by a great singer and great scenery but still it kind of bugs me that a Canadian didn't sing this.

A very huge "Thank You" to Lee Greenwood. I thought so much of the original song "God Bless the USA" and had always hoped that he would do one for Canada. I am a very proud Canadian and an extremely proud mother of a fallen soldier. To have this song put to pictures of the Highway of Heroes brought me to tears and really warms my heart having travelled the route with my son. I will always cherish this video. God Bless you.

It begins - and has since 1949 - on the shores of Newfoundland - just rated by the National Geographic Society as the most beautiful coastline on the Planet Earth. Pity that a song paying homage to the war dead purposely leaves out an entire place and its people who on a per capita basis remains unsurpassed in their willingness to answer the call of duty.

I love the song however I cannot help but wonder why once again the beautiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador was not mentioned as the furthest eastern province of Canada. And be reminded that a very high percentage of our soldiers risking their lives are from Newfoundland and Labrador.
