is this really Ubuntu desktop without downgrading or installing gnome-shell " without downgrading or installing " man look this video all the time just downgrading and downloading
great video had not re-installed Ubuntu since having to re-do my computer due to a viral attack and my computer crashing. I do not like the Unity interface. I wanted my old desktop back. Before I had switched to Debian. Thanks to your video now I got all the perks of Ubuntu and my old applications menu. Thanks a bunch. A new fan.
A couple useful features that are still lost are the 'show desktop' icon that previously existed on the bottom left corner and the ability to add quick launch icons in the sparse title bar along the top.
Far easier to just get Linux Mint, I gave up linux after the ubuntu 11 release, and went back to xp, then upgraded to win7, thats how much I didnt like ubuntu, despite using it dedicatedly for 1.5 years before this.
I read in a magazine that Linux Mint is like the 10. version of ubuntu, and thought lets try it. Really I became an instant fan, it is what Ubuntu used to be before it got changed into an ipad! I still wont even try ubuntu, sooooooo frutrsating. Cheers , love this channel.
@GPEART1 Yes Ubuntu is a pain but there's other distro's you can use like Pinguy ,Zorin OS, or Linux Mint. even Xubuntu is good to continue your linux experience.
yup, xubuntu-desktop with xfce or lubuntu-desktop with LXDE are better versions of ubuntu these days that gnome 3 or unity thing is getting anyoing every minute. i recommend open the terminal or that software centre in ubuntu 11.10 and replace unity with lubuntu-desktop or xubuntu, lubuntu is easy to use and excellent replacement of the gnome 3 or unity desktop.
Linux mint is also a excelent replacement of ubuntu.
dude i think you have to talk with her for sth else this conversation is really boring for her, its obvious
