How to connect location free to my laptop in order for me to watch tv away from home. I have a cable dsl modem (Time Warner) in my room that I already have. Do I need to buy a wireless router or could my modem be sufficient? If I still need a wireless router, what kind should I get? And how to connect?
@AlistairMcQ1 Okay. You NEED a wireless router. Setup your wireless network. After that is done, connect an ethernet cable to one of the ports on your Wireless router (any port but the one the yellow cord is plugged into). Then plug the other end of the Ethernet cable to your base station. You can buy any type of router, but I have found Netgear the strongest 4 me. Make sure whatever you buy is Wireless N and not Wireless G. Wireless N has a stronger connection.
Thanks BobHenderson1. I will go get me a Netgear wireless N router. After setting up the wireless router should I do your install part 1 or part 2 for my laptop? Also, will my laptop automatically read the location free after setting up the wireless router or is there a location free software I need to download first in order for my laptop to read location free?
hi bob, im trying to install the locationfree software but its asking for the serial number located on the jacket sleeve. ive lost this disc a long time ago. can you pls send me the serial # for the software? thanks!!
@jennyg930 Hold down the reset button, unplug your station, replug and try again. Also, delete the LocationFreeAp in your networks list if you haven't already. Then try the whole process again.
"But my router is not in the same room so I'll leave that til later"
Is it possible for you to have your router and basestation in seperate rooms and still be able to connect it to the internet (wirelessly) and access it away from home?
nice vid. i just wanna use my location free player for my psp around my house, can i just select my base station as the ip address, or do i need to connect it to my router???

Try typing in Sony Location Free. If that doesn't work, try Google. Its likely to relocate you to ebay anywayz.

where did you buy this

i bought it in ebay. There are newer versions of this so i recommend that you buy the newer one for better quality. it costs a little more though.
