I know it's been about 3 years since this game and from seeing yoru comment your moving on to bigger and better games but do you think you could make some tuts because I'm trying to make games with blender 2.5 and am having problems finding good tuts on game making that are good.

Not always, the helicopter is more powerful but if your skilled enough with the hummer theres quite a few weaknesses of the heli you can take advantage of :)

Lol I've thought about making tutorials, but really its all out there already, and theres so many things to make tutorials about, so many different aspects in making games, it would take a very long time to make a tutorial about how to do all of it.

Your best bet is to look on blender sites, and use google to find tutorials to teach you all the many skills involved with making games.

That makes a .exe of the game. Put it in a folder with all the .dll files you find in the blender directory to play it (check out the ones i put in the download for this game)

Sorry but I dont give out the .blend for some games (usually the ones that have taken me a long time to make)

If your looking for good models, you wouldnt find any in the .blend anyways :p There all pretty basic. Try looking on turbosquid, they have a lot of free stuff better than my models here!

No prob, of course making your own models is so much better than downloading them. Google for the blender noob to pro, thats a great list of tutorials. Theres heaps of handy stuff out there for modeing in blender and using the blender game engine (BGE)

Blender game engine is nice. It isn't as good as CrystalSpace and Ogre *yet*, but I think there are some advantages like an all in one editor for games, graphics, and levels. I plan to get in on the BGE development to add some stuff to match up to these other engines. I'll see how it goes though, maybe I can make some good things like lod, occlusional culling, and rag dolls.

Yeh LOD is easy to set up with a script, rag dolls are supported now, occlusional culling isnt in yet, but it could be coming soon. The BGE has just been updated, a lot of bug fixes and performance increases, along with GLSL and lots of other cool stuff. This game was made with the older, slower game engine.

since when are ragdolls supported? I thought that you can only fake the ragdolls with multiple objects using rigid body contraints. If thats what you mean, its not really ragdoll. But I'd also like to say thats a really great game you have made! Finally someone that sticks with their game and finishes it! congrats!

Thanks! And yeh, ragdolls are kinda 'faked' in Blender, there not properly supported. But ive seen some pretty nice ragdolls made in blender.

Yeh it would take a long time to make an engine, and without a team of pros youd probubly not be able to. I use Blender3D's inbuilt game engine, which is free of course. Its getting better these days, it used to be really slow. Theres other free engines out there as well, like OGRE and Crystalspace.
