oh wow! that's a lot of puppets! thanks for making this tutorial. i am frying to make a monster puppet, so i could use your design for the body and the head.
the glue is a type of contact cement and it has to dry first before you try to glue the parts of the foam together. I f you look closely the film has breaks in it right after she applies the glue for drying time. it appears to be a continuous film. took me awhile to see that
@TheGrimes2011 The pink was underneth a yellow clothe so you could not see the glue seams. think of the pink foam as the muscles and tendons and fat layers that give the body it shape. The clothe that goes over it is the skin that gives the shapes its color and features
Hello , This summer I would Boergia with her nose and mouth, blends in actual size of a woman. Hidden under her dress and boa I want her character to unleash the long-term people in the street or in the park. The standard muppets who have made a big mouth. Boergia has not big mouth see the photos. Would I make a copy of her? People who love children, puppets, muppets and animals can give us advice on our channel. Greetings from Boergia and her family from Netherlands
how did it turn yello? wosent it pink foam? Did you spray paint it or something, it looks to clean for spray paint? How did you change the color of the faom?
I've tried a ton of "quick grab cement glue" to make my puppets, and none of them compare to this glue. what is the brand of this glue? i need to have some!
Wonderful work! Is there any way I can get a copy of the templates you use to cut out the different body parts so that I can adapt them myself into other shapes?
MAN!!! you are brilliant... i wish you could make me one of them tht would be soo cool but i bet you charge like hundreds for them which means i will never have one :P :D
1) Does the contact cement/cement glue last? I've been using 3M's FoamFast 74, but it's messy and hard to control since it's a spray.
2) I didn't see where you changed the color from pink to yellow - did you spray paint it or dye it? Or do you order dyed foam? I've done both fabric and spray paint and both are a bit difficult or time consuming.
3) What material did you use for the mouth? Some kind of rubber?
nice, im interested in maked muppet puppets, so i bought the foam book to learn how xP and i learned more information about puppets on the first 2 pages then 4 days of internet browsing for info x)
you are the best on the web! Thank you so much. May I ask what kind of glue you are using, i have tried 5 or 6 different types and none work as good as yours, BLESS YOU FOR SHARING, LOVE, LOVE, ME, IN JESUS NAME!
Using is the contact glue, commonly called the tail of shoemaker. When the puppet is already painted, use hot glue to glue the eyes, teeth, tongue, hair, etc..

Very good video. I am from India. Want to learn puppet making right from basics and use it as an aid to spread free education to poor children of the villages. Can u give tutorial via internet? Would you please teach me from basics? I am willing to pay for your tutoring. please respond.
I don't make puppets but I do know a lot about crafting, and yes, a regular-day person could make this if they're not hyper. It just takes patience and an idea/drawing of what you're gonna do, but to make good ones there are techniques that you would learn over time. All you need is different colored foam, a hot glue gun and plastic eyes. There's a special glue that melts foam, so it kinda binds and becomes literally one, but it would be easier and smarter just to start with a glue gun.
That was so totally facinating! Yes, I agree, the music reminded me of when I was a little kid, and some of those old school craft shows on PBS sounded JUST like that! LOL. But, that was just the coolest thing to watch those puppets get made!
nice video. but they aren't marionettes. they are hand/mouth puppets. and could use a little comments such as what materials and where you got them from rather than the music, which thanks to the comments i turned down my speaker volume immediately.

What foam should I use?
Pink - medium density - 20mm = 0.78740pol
Why use pink foam?
So that when she is painting with the color appearance of skin.
What color ink should I use to make with this tone?
Depends on the personality of the puppet: generally clear and colored yellow to brown to black.
What type of ink used in the foam?
The base of water, usually used for fabric painting, as solvent-based paints to foam damage.
