  • Lol. Best video I've seen in a while

  • this is great!

  • Dr. Loren Cordain would be proud of this advertisement for his plan. Great job!

  • Lose the veggies and fruit and add a whole bunch of fat and we're talking healthy diet.

  • This rules!!!!!!!

  • So what gives you itus, the meat or the grains?

  • The Paleo diet is the ONLY diet. My allergies have all but vanished, my health improved, my energy increased, it even brought my hypoglycemia under control. Oh, and during the first year of eating strictly Paleo, I lost 60 pounds. . . without exercising. No effort, my body shed the pounds and one year later I have kept them off.

  • Love your video ...good work .....I am loving the Paleo diet myself....

  • Brilliant.

  • Hillarious

  • hahaha good show.

  • Nice buns! That's right, buns aren't allowed on paleo.

  • LOL this is hilarious

    great work guys

except you missed out on mentioning nuts n seeds...

  • Check out the book Primal-Body Primal-Mind, it is amazing, best nutrition book I have ever seen. I am starting to cut out sugar and carbs, I have lots of energy.

  • I also had digestive problems, and they're completely gone. I know this is kinda gross....but I rarely have any gas, and I hardly smell when visiting the bathroom. Sorry....but that, to me, is a great sign.

This diet is being used to reduce the effects of autism and ADHD.

You'll be amazed. Oh, I still use soy, some salt, little sugar in some of my recipes. I'm pretty much pure Paleo: fruits, veggies, nuts, meats, fish. No dairy, no grain, no corn, no starches, no legumes.

  • After travelling to Asia, I noticed their people are much more slender than we Americans, live as long if not longer, and heart disease isn't even on their top 5 for causes of death. They eat little to no dairy, eat mostly fresh fruits, veggies, meat, and fish, and actually eat very little rice.

I started the Paleo diet back in October. I've dropped from 200 to 183 and have more energy and strength than ever. My girlfriend says I look better than 21 year olds (I'm 47).

  • @jtomasik The Maasai consume dairy as a part of their traditional diet. It's different getting it straight from the cow than it is getting it from an American grocery store. I think the real issue here is whether people eat a diet that provides for their species requirements, rather than nitpicking about particular foods. But "paleo" is a good shorthand for people who don't want to read up on nutrition.

  • Naked caveman wearing glasses cracked me up!

  • Dude you were naked !

  • Ten thumbs up!

VERY nicely made and a great way to promote this away way of living.

  • Away way of living = awesome way of living :-)

  • tablets. (The richest food source of alpha-lipoic acid is red meat.)

"From a therapeutic viewpoint, few natural antioxidants are ideal," Packer recently explained in Free Radical Biology & Medicine. "An ideal therapeutic antioxidant would fulfill several criteria. These include absorption from the diet, conversion in cells and tissues into usable form, a variety of antioxidant actions (including interactions with other antioxidants) in both membrane and aqueous phases, and low toxicity."

  • and it indirectly renews vitamin E.

In Germany, alpha-lipoic acid is an approved medical treatment for peripheral neuropathy, a common complication of diabetes. It speeds the removal of glucose from the bloodstream, at least partly by enhancing insulin function, and it reduces insulin resistance, an underpinning of many cases of coronary heart disease and obesity. The therapeutic dose for lipoic acid is 600 mg/day. In the United States, it is sold as a dietary supplement, usually as 50 mg.

  • according to a recent paper in FEBS Letters (Whiteman M, et al., FEBS Letters, 1996; 379:74-6). Peroxynitrite radicals play a role in the development of atherosclerosis, lung disease, chronic inflammation, and neurological disorders.

Alpha-lipoic acid also plays an important role in the synergism of antioxidants, what Packer prefers to call the body's "antioxidant network." It directly recycles and extends the metabolic lifespans of vitamin C, glutathione, and coenzyme Q10

  • "ideal," and "metabolic" antioxidant. It neutralizes free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of cells, in contrast to vitamin C (which is water soluble) and vitamin E (which is fat soluble).

The body routinely converts some alpha-lipoic acid to dihydrolipoic acid, which appears to be an even more powerful antioxidant. Both forms of lipoic acid quench peroxynitrite radicals, an especially dangerous type consisting of both oxygen and nitrogen.

  • Over the past few years, the pace of research on lipoic acid has increased dramatically. Last year, Lester Packer, PhD, of the University of California, Berkeley, published a lengthy review article on alpha-lipoic acid in Free Radical Biology & Medicine (1995;19:227-50). In April 1996, he presented a short review of it in the same journal (FRBM;20:625-6).

Several qualities distinguish alpha-lipoic acid from other antioxidants, and Packer has described it at various times as the "universal,"

  • video rocks

    paleo diet rocks

    greetz :)

  • Lol, so we should only eat fruit? Please, humans need meat, meat is good for you.

I'd love to see the testosterone levels of all these vegetarians and fruitarians.

  • Holmes MD, Colditz GA, Hunter DJ, Hankinson SE, Rosner B, Speizer FE, Willett WC. Meat, fish and egg intake and risk of breast cancer. Int J Cancer. 2003 Mar 20;104(2):221-7.

We found no evidence that intake of meat or fish during mid-life and later was associated with risk of breast cancer.

  • For every study that fruitarians post, I can post just as many that say that meat is not the cause of those diseases. I would like to know exactly how fruit prevents these diseases.

  • fruit and vegetables strenghthens the immune system and has a lot of nutrients to strenghthen your bodies resisitence to diseases. and eating mostly raw and organic fruits and vegetables in your diet means you are not eating junky toxic food like mcdonalds or candy. if u have a bad diet with not enough nutrients, your body tries to discard the toxins out of your body from those bad foods and instead of fighting diseases and becoming stonger and more vital with fruits and vegetables.

  • Foods that are high in fat and cholesterol, such as red meat, margarine, and eggs, were positively associated with endometrial cancer, whereas cereals, legumes, vegetables, and fruits, particularly those high in lutein, were inversely associated. Cancer Res. 1997 Nov 15;57(22):5077-85.

  • It only makes sense that the healthiest diet for humans is the one they spent the longest time adapting to. It is now beleived that our ancestors began using weapons to hunt as far back as 5 million years ago (Chimps found hunting with spears--google it). We have only really been eating grains for about 10,000 years tops. And processed food for a fraction of that time. That cow I ate last night was vegan, what good did it do his longevity.........?......:P

  • "the healthiest diet for humans is the one they spent the longest time adapting to"

Direct lineage co-evolved with fruit tens of millions of years before fire was kindled.

"ancestors began using weapons to hunt as far back as 5 million years ago"

Supplementing fruit/sprouts w/meat during the ice age did not cause a digestive overhaul to digest meat better than fruit. Meat remains a compromise/disease risk for all hominoidea. Fruit cures diseases created by meat and fruit is digested best.

  • I love the paleo diet it gives me the power I need to shove a knife up people's urethra!!!!

  • I don't think you should eat any oil

  • An interesting side effect for me on the Paleo diet: my hay fever is just about gone now. After 20 years of hellish allergies, no more pills!

  • Dropping dairy and refined grains will minimize mucous build up since you are reducing mucous-forming foods. If you go another step to reduce nuts and eliminate animal fat you can then extinguish any chance of contracting colds or flues. Acidic foods form excess mucous. Humans already produce enough mucous without getting mucous from diet.

  • Great movie! I've found myself naturally following this diet when I started eating potatoes instead of pasta.

1:38 reminds me of myself when I haven't worked out in a while. Ha ha!

  • Great vid! My only regret in eating Paleo is that it took me eight years of trying different diets and research to find it.

Best mental and physical health of my life now and I hope you get the same results.

  • Thanks for the olive oil tip...I'll check it out. 1:05 FTW

  • Whoops! This video manages to avoid dietary classification. Frugivore is the proper dietary classification for humans who (and all hominidae) digest fruit best. Frugivorous hominidae also eat nuts, leaves, etc. But meat has opposing digestive, metabolic & elimination processes. Fruit reverses, postpones, prevents meat related diseases. "Omnivore" is a non-scientific blanket term.

  • Too bad there aren't any 'meat related diseases'. Plenty of 'fruit/grain related' ones though. Diabetes, cancer, obesity..

  • Quinadal- "there aren't any meat related diseases"

Attributable risks for colorectal cancer in northern Italy. Int J Cancer. 1996 Mar 28;66(1):60-4.

red meat consumption explained 17% of all cases, and a high score of seasoning fats 4%. A higher daily meal frequency was responsible for 13% of the cases..Family history of colorectal cancer accounted for 4% of all cases..estimates were similar for colon and rectal cancers separately..Cancer is acquired/preventable. Fruit reverses cancer risk.

  • lol

  • Oh wait, missed that bit on the video. My bad!

  • Creationist are we?

  • I was on a similar diet a few years back, and it was awesome.

I lost 70lbs, I was stronger than I'd ever been, and my sex drive was INSANE.

Then I went off it, gained the weight back...and yeah...

    it sucked.

  • So you confirmed there are other factors influencing your diet besides health reasons.

  • HAHAHAHAHA serious props on this video! HAHAHA

  • LOL

  • I started five days ago, and already feel better. Never could get acustomed to any kind of diet, but this really fits me well. Maybe is it because I'm an O type too... Great job, Urban Scout!

  • New year's resolution Paleo diet.... 6 days now!!! what about the oil that meat was cooking in, please tell me it's not canola.

    Gotta be olive.

  • heated olive oil is toxic.....have to be canola.

  • Why?

    Coconut oil is best.

  • Do not fall into the hype which is put out by traditional medicine regarding the promotion of canola oil (rapeseed) as superior due to its concentration of monounsaturated fatty acids. Olive oil is far superior and has been around for thousands of years. Canola oil is a recent development and the original crops were unfit for human consumption due to their high content of a dangerous fatty acid called euric acid. or if you are frying or sautéing food, then you should consider coconut oil.

  • That modern fruit did not exist back then. Try berries.

  • Thumbs up.

  • Hiya Scout!

Either someone kind will give me the Paleo Diet, or I will have to purchase this book soon, as I have been waiting forever on the local library's waiting list.

Need to feel that energy now!!! :P

  • Has a year past by so quickly. This book is worthy of being read! Yep!

  • I haven't felt temptation for bread yet.

  • i seen a deer on the road i jumped out and savegly beat it to death and ate its liver right there .Ever since ive been on the paleo diet ive been crazy for meat

  • Very good. :) Made a diet into a movie trailer....or something...I dunno, but it entertained me just the same. :D

  • The paleo diet is very advanced (at least for blood type O's) but still skips the much more advanced science of the Blood Type Diet (A'dmomo). The paleo diet can even sicken blood type A's, B's & AB's (The natural vegetarians).

  • blood type diet lacks scientific evidence, paleo diet was the common diet of all our ancestors for million of years

  • luv this vid man!!!

    hahhaha

i ve been on it 2-3 months

    damn i forgot

  • OMG, did he beat that women?

  • Great diet. Great video. Thanks.

  • Awesome. The paleo diet IS that good.
