After this battle, 600 years passed until Serbia regained its independence. It's the main reason why Serbia is still behind the western countries. Both Serbian, Croatian and Muslim nationalisms were surpressed during the communist regime. We were all "Yugoslavs". After Tito died, the nationalist movements surged, and everything ended in bloodshed. This movie was played in 1999, when Nato started bombing Serbia, to raise the moral of the people. Manipulation. And that made ottomans to stop there campaign of conquering Europe. Later Habsburg monarchy made a solid front that kept them away. If the battle of Kosovo didnt took place and if Serbs just surrendered and became Ottoman vassals, todays Europe would be much different, Islam would probably be the most common religion in whole Europe.
