If you build a clock, use Nixie tubes, they are retro looking, Plus, you don't need the 7-segment driver chip, but a more rare high voltage driver chip instead! (or just a bunch of transistors) I have some cool old clocks that you would be interested in.. shall I make videos?
Cassettemaster's going digital! That's pretty cool and would be really cool if you make a whole clock someday. thank goodness there are chips for just about everything, just imagine how many transistors it would take if there were no chips available!
Looks great! I really like the Digital Exerciser, it seems to be a useful tool.
To start the counter at 0 you need a reset signal. Disconnect pins 2 and 3 from ground and connect them together. When you now apply a pulse to the pins the counter resets.
Nice. A clock is simple to make, though that depends on the chips that you have. I made myself a nixie clock using 4xxx chips and a lot of transistors.
To make a clock you need a pulse source, which can be made using a 32.768kHz quartz and a special chip that divides the frequency by 32768 giving 1Hz (1 pulse/second), then just make the counters in series, so the next one counts up when the previous one wraps around, just some counters will need to reset at 6 or 3.Use some logic gates for that
Very nice! I never thought it would be that simple to built such a counter. The only schematics I came across were using thousands of different parts. ICs really made a lot of things easier.
thanks sir for this vedio!Hope a new vedio come soon!!!

Very cool, cassette master.
I have built many of those TTL clocks over the years.
They are very reliable.
With more digits it is wise to put an 100nF decoupling capacitor in parrallel with each IC pos and neg supply pins.

That, is really cool!
I'd like to try my hand at an AM transmitter on one of these.

Great Rick! The More you learn about any circuits gives you the ability to interpret and understand other circuits.
