@jhrunion I agree with you. This is one of the greatest scenes in movie history. It shows the contrast between young and old. When this first came out, I related more to Sonny Crawford. Now, 40 years later, I relate more to Sam the Lion. That, in a nutshell, is the brilliance of this scene. We all, if we are lucky, go from young to old.

Sam The Lion . . deserved that Academy Award for Best Actor . . for being ' himself ' . . Ben Johnson, rest in peace . .
