This song gives me chills when I listen to it...mainly because of the mentioning of "ashes in the fall". In World War II, the Nazis had buildings in which they systematically burned people. The corpses would turn to ash and spew out of the smokestacks. There were so many particles of ash that people would think that it was snowing in the fall, but they were pieces of corpses when they looked closer.
