  • I call them bush turkeys.

  • Could you at least give credit to the original maker of this?

  • Did u hear the sound the bird made just before the chainsaw also, badboy!

  • Is this a pokemon?!

  • @MagiKpeople yes

  • @MagiKpeople have you not heard of ditto :P!

  • SHAME on humanity.

  • FUCK YOU stealing videos from BBC

  • Chainsaw or fuckin annoying scooters? Who knows at least it sounds better when the bird does it.

  • what kinda world are we in when Birds are acting like Monkies now? 1:26

  • @ hirscman23

Your retarded. The bird imitates chainsaws God put the imitating ability in the bird GOD help you

  • @encryption8 LMAO, God did, eh? Magic bearded man in the sky that you've never met: 1, Evolution, a scientific evident: 0 ... SEEMS LEGIT.

  • so wonderful..and extraordinary.. 2:10

  • the camera thing is so cooL!

  • Darwin FTW.

  • @faisnam

Yeah, totally. God definitely had chainsaws in mind when he created this bird. Chainsaws that destroy the habitats of god's "creations".

  • Funny that people think this animal started as a bacteria or germ and evolved into this. This animal was made a bird and the same for every animal by God. Macro evolution is a joke

  • @Falsnam

    You're retarded, lol.

  • @Falsnam so only macro evolution......

even though we cant prove micro evolution your saying macro.......

    get your facts straight

1 evolution is a THEORY people take to seriously

2 show me where a random genetic mutaiton has improved an animal.........

    crazy creationist

    (im a troll)

  • simply amazing

  • a car alarm in the forest?

  • the bird sounds like R2D2 xD

  • but can it do Attenborough?

  • Love this. They're local to where I live and people who live up the mountain behind me are always getting misled - thinking they can hear a car come up the driveway, thinking the phone is ringing or wondering why that tractor is going. And feeling fools for being duped for the thousandth time.

I would have liked to hear it imitation David Attenborough.

  • put a radio into the forest, adn see miracle! cool bird :)

  • dark....... nooo...... not frank caleiendo

    micheal winslow

  • bs can it really do the chain saw one haha

  • The lyrebird is capable of imitating almost any sound — from a mill whistle to a cross-cut saw, and, not uncommonly, sounds as diverse as chainsaws [2], car engines and car alarms, fire alarms, rifle-shots, camera shutters, dogs barking and crying babies. Lyrebirds are shy birds and a constant stream of bird calls coming from one place is often the only way of identifying them and their presence.

  • hahahhah nice copy paste off of wikipedia i just read that paragraph

you even left the reference numbers in there come on dude

  • wtf?....all I saw on here where questions, so I looked up this funky little bird and pasted my info. As if anyone with a life would know about this unless they did google it. So next time maybe just read the comment and move on, or go through the effort and help inform those who seek it

  • you are an idiot

  • and you are a trolling moron

  • That would be funny if he accidentally attracted a pterodactyl, and it ate him. :p

  • is this real??? no f-ing way! if so thats nuts!

  • This fascinating bird was the inspiration for a upcoming book for young adults titled, The Land of Intuit. I'm looking for a publisher. 'til then...

    any constructive feedback? gracias.

  • holy damn, that is just amazing. And we think humans are so intelligent

  • We are intelligent. Well at least some of us are. This bird's abilities doesn't mean it's intelligent. It only means this bird is the fucking shit with sounds. I think it can compete with the skinny black guy from Police Academy.

  • LOL

  • awesome

  • frank caleindo of birds

  • omg imagine hearing a chainsaw at night while camping, it would scare the shit out of me. leatherface!!

  • I hope one day humans will be able to evolve in the way to make music like that, by just using their voice.

  • oh we can, and we have been able to but this day and age there are so many manmade distractions that we are limited of our capabilities and we are almost devolving.

the biggest illusion is that we have limitations...

  • amazing!

  • I've read of an australian that has two lyre birds near the house, and they do the sounds of the modem while connecting at 6:00am.

  • its sad that this beautiful bird can mimic the sound of its home being destroyed

  • Comment removed

  • why?

  • amazing stuff! Wow!

  • lol badass man

  • the chainsaw and camera sounds made me go "holy shit"...i didn't even think it was possible to mimic such a sound as well as that bird did

  • there was once a lyre bird found near a persons home and had learnt the piece they where playing on flute.

  • Birds are truly amazing aren't they! Just to agree with what everyone else has said, this is not fake. I have the entire series "The Life of Birds" on DVD, and it is awesome. If anyone is interested in seeing another video clip from the same series, search for "Clever Crows."

  • I watched that whole program as part of the David Attenborough weekend on TV a few weeks ago. Awesome stuff. It's completely real. The flying squirels were amazing too. :)

  • I adore this bird and this video. Thank you for posting it.

  • OMG... i didn't knew that there were so many IGNORANT people. Believe it or not, that's not fake. And for your information, the standard sounds that the Lyrebird do are more hard to sing than the camera sound or the chainsaws... They even immitate the human voice.

  • It's not fake, I just saw it on BBC.

  • Hes like the black guy from police academy, except the bird made me laugh

  • "The Life of Birds" - an awesome series!

  • Thats hillarious...great what osund effects will do

  • real, bitches!

  • Thats awesome, how the fuck can anyone have audacity call fake on Attenborough?

  • If possible, I would buy one of those birds, and then play Star Wars where ever I kept it to see how many of thouse sounds it could mimic.

  • our next american idol

  • To all the people claiming it is fake, why don't you google "lyrebird".

  • Its all true believe you me

  • go fake you.

  • its not fake n00b

  • i find this hard to believe

  • Jesus god, what will that bird sing next.

  • astonishing

  • That's fake.

  • No it's not. Look up the lyrebird on the internet. or at a library.

  • That's very cool

  • WOW!!

  • RIDICULOUS!

  • hmm..

  • why was the other one deleted oO

  • Wahoo =D
