  • HEY why the fuck you have a SHIT-STATION 1 (aka PlayStation) in your collection?. Is ruining you, is a only-comercial-purpose-console that looks like a stupid bad-quality-plastic toaster.

  • best Dreamcast game! and one of the finest ever made

  • This is the most underated game ever and the dreamcast is the most underated console. If they are not going to make shenmue III then they should at least re-release shenmue I or something!

You should also have a look at "skies of arcadia" for the DC. A really good RPG

  • This was the best game on the dreamcast. Wish I still had a copy of this game, my dreamcast wouldn't be sitting in the closet collecting dust.

  • this game is £160 for the dreamcast on amazon i got it with my dreamcast when it first come out ....one of my all time faves on dreamcast ...

  • the main character sounds like you dude! same voice!

  • I Swear i never Played a game like this!

Its Not an game! Its your second Life!!!

  • I will buy a Dreamcast just for this game.

  • ur missing disc 3

  • @TheNastyman77 Yeah I know I had to go back and get it. Luckily they had it.

  • i just got this game today. it fuckin rocks

  • This game is of epic proportions. Some may call me a sad bastard, but I'm genuinely devastated that we'll never see Shenmue 3. :o(

  • an epic title, aswell and 2, i miss these games :(

  • Did you get Shenmue 2 ?

  • it is the best made

  • this used to be my favorite game is this game out for the ps3 if it is im defenitly getting

  • i burn this game and playing it on my dreamcast yeah!

  • Have you seen the trailer for shenume 3 looks realy sweet. great review btw 5/5

  • there is no shenmue 3 trailer

    it doesnt exist...

  • i HAV A SPARE DISC 1

  • damm he got played shenmue is a three disc game and the passport was for online stuff and mini games from the main game

  • Yes I got "played" gezz I realized I was missing a disc and brought it back to the pawn shop I got the game from. Not only did he give me the missing disc but he replaced it with another with the case in better condition.

  • gald to hear that shenmue is not a game to miss....part two on the x box is really good too....to bad sega isn't going to make anymore and they just left the story on a to be cont

  • @MN12BIRD so....how was it?

  • @MN12BIRD I gor a copy of shenmue for $12.99 in mint condition! Only problem is the case is broken...

  • where did u get that from?

  • You are missing a disc, there are supposed to be 4 discs in the case.

  • i used to play this game all the time it was my favourite, but my dreamcast broke :( and i cant find it on ps2, does any one kno where to get it from :)

  • It never came out on PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube. Shenmue 2 is available Xbox. The original is only for Dreamcast.

  • Shenmue isn't out on PS2. Shenmue 2 was released on Xbox packed with the film.

  • epic game 1 of the best games of all time

y play this game on my old DC

and now a have Shenmue2 on my Xbox but i wana play shenmue 2 on DC =/

  • europe got Shemue 2 on the dreamcast! =P

  • there are a bunch of hacks of shemue two for the dreamcast, look it up

  • GD-ROMs sure don't hold alot of data. No wonder it's on 3 discs.

  • CD-ROM 600mb

    GD-ROM 1.4gb

    miniDVD 1.4gb

DVD 4 or 9 gb depending.

  • I think CD-ROM actually holds 750mb. But I could be wrong.

  • 1.5 gig I think is the number.

  • I got this game for $6.00 at a retro store

  • on wikipedia it said that this game was the most expensive game ever produced until grand theft auto 4

  • Oh cool I didn't know that.

  • SRY But theres one lot more expensive. (FORGOT the name SRY!!!!) Its also Arcade a japanese title. I think it was about 210$.

  • @deathmountaintv ..The reason it cost so much is cuz SEGA tried making this game for the saturn first, and we all know how difficult the saturn was to program for so alot of money went into making the saturn version but, it never fell threw because Sega ditched the saturn. But, the dreamcast was a breeze to program for so it didnt cost so much to make Shenmue on it. As with any company they said Shenmue was costly to make because they wanted to hype their product. Dreamcast pwns.

  • I have shenmune 2 on Dreamcast Yay

  • Lucky.

  • in shenmue 1 can you only fight by tapping the buttons it tells you 2 cause in shenmue 2 yo ufight how ever you want instead of tappign the buttons the game makes you

  • For those who are saying this is expensive on eBay, I'm disappointed.

There are many resale shops that I've been to that sell Dreamcasts for at least $20, and the most I've seen Shenmue was $10.

  • my m8 got this game and the dreamcast second hand from ebay the other day,he brang it all to my house and i loved this game,i want one now lol!

  • i really want this game but i dont have a dreamcast and on ebay there charging 100 bucks for them looks like i might be forced to pass

  • I want it, but it's pretty expensive on eBay...

  • Shenmue ROCKS.. I still own my MINT DC version. And I also have my mint Shenmue 2 for Xbox.. Wow, too bad we will never see Shenmue 3! :(

The biggest rip off in history!

  • you got screwed you only have two of the game discs your missing the third disc and the passport is just an extra disc with the soundtrack and the cut scenes you have unlock and there was a feature where if you where stuck you could could connect to internet and Nozomi would give you a hint but you could probably find the third disc on the internet

  • Yeah I realized I was missing a disc and went back to the pawn shop I got it from and they replaced everything for a complete version in better condition!

  • that was nice of them

  • did you ever finish the game?

    did you enjoy it?

  • Wow, that's nice to hear. So, how much have you played of the game since you posted this vid?

  • there is more than one disc, damn when will this end

  • yeah xcloudx01 my dad said basically the same thing and that was in 2005

  • I fookin love this game. I used to play it many years ago on my Dreamcast. Wish they would release it on PC so I could play it again.

  • OMG!!! I gotta pick up that game. Hope that it´s not too rare.

  • I bought this when it first came out. it cost something like £40. Couldn't stop playing till i completed it.

The graphics were so ahead of its time, when watching the intro my mum came in and said pretty much "what the hell, is that the game? that looks amazing"

Loved the story of this game :D and its very suprisingly long.

  • its not "shen- mue" its actually pronounced jgfnsfgnsgnsgnbskgnbpngwrtngwirngt1214j1234roergot45t

  • great i won

  • This game was so great! One of my favorites of all time. I was so disappointed that they didn't port the sequel over to North America for DC users and even more disappointed that Sega gave up on the series all together.

  • and also mine are both "4" disk games .not 3

  • The game is 3 discs the fourth disc is the passport not actually part of the game.

  • shenmue 1 and 2 were both released on the DC , i know for a fact as I have both (official pal UK release)

  • Well I too am getting this game soon. And I must say this is just... phenomenal. For the DC I am just blown away; it seems much more realistic then most games. Anyways nice vid!

  • shenmue is absolutley awful compared to shenmue 2, when the snow starts coming down at nighttime with the piano music playing on disc 3 thats the only good bit

  • Shenmue was originally supposed to come out for the Saturn as well

it was cancelled but there are clips on youtube of gameplay, all i can say is wow, for a saturn game it looks awesome

    anyone else see it??

  • Yes, I saw it and... WOW!

  • man that's lucky. i never got a winning can. too bad you can't go online to get a prize.

  • not bad. i have the game and played through it a few times. i see them at the used game store here all the time $15-$20 i think. guess i got used to seeing it and forgot it is hard to find maybe.

  • Perfect!!!!!

  • Just thought I'd post my video as a response since I have a little talk about the game and mention your name in it.

  • This is perhaps, my favorite game on the Dreamcast. Not only did I like it for what it achieved at the time, but for illustrating realistically an area of Japan. I have a real interest in Japanese culture, so the game had a great impact on me.

  • I hear ya I loved just walking around Dobuita. While playing it I was like "Man I wanna be here for real!" Awesome game. I went back and got the missing disk (if you noticed)

  • I had no idea the graphics were so good it looks better then many PS2 games

  • Zain844 you know the PS2 came out 16 months later right? lol

  • I knew that.

  • No, I mean on places like eBay or Amazon. On GameStop, it's hard to find pretty much any DC game...

  • Yeah, don't be surprised you got it for $20. Surprisingly, it's never that hard to find or expensive.

  • i got mine for 20 and i got mgs1 for 20

  • the UK Pal Version has $ disks, also I believe shenmue II wasnt released in north America?

  • Yeah this one has 4 Disks too I had to go back and get them all! Luckily the shop owner had them all we just didn't notice it was missing one in the first place.

  • it was released on xbox but not on dc

  • You don't need to feed Ryo actually, the only point of buying cans and food(except for the cat) is to win toys or arcade games that you can play at home. Anyway, enjoy Shenmue, if the 3 ever comes out, at least you won't have to wait as long.

  • The original concept was for the story to span 16 chapters, so you were going to able to fly around the world and see time-oriented events. They kept the events, but the implementation was limited to the first surrounding areas. There were going to be local holidays and festivals implemented, as well as a continuous count of your events so people would remember you and what you did near them and what they heard while you were gone. What they have now is like Christmas Nights - still pretty cool.

  • You're not the first to say that. I talked to the guy who owns the pawn shop I bought the game at (randomly ran into him!) and I told him I was missing Disk 3. He said he had another copy and to stop by on this Sunday and he would give me the 3rd disk!

  • So get this I went and visited this shop the other day. Not only does the guy give me disk 3 but he looks at mine and his and says "you might as well just take the whole thing its in better shape" the book on mine was all wrinkled like it got wet. So now I have all the disks and its in even better shape! Awesome place to deal with!

  • The original concept for the game was amazing - it was to be a 'living' world. The best example given was that you could travel to Hong Kong in November and head to Japan in December where you would find Christmas decorations all over town and snow covering everything, then it would be take down in mid January. Still a great game.

The Xbox version comes with a recap disc to catch you up on the events of the first. Oh, and enjoy the in-game arcade - it's awesome.

  • Pwned incomplete game. Just erm get your "backup" discs sorted.

  • I ran into the pawn shop owner the other day and I told him I was missing Disk 3. He said he had another copy and to stop in this Sunday and he could give it to me. All worked out so thats sweet!

  • Wow, that's a good shop owner.

  • dude i knew you would get shenmue one day

  • my favortie DC games are Toy commandos and Army men sages war

  • Yeah , i always favoured DreamCast to the PS2... Why the hell did people choose PS2 over DC ?? I mean people like the PS2 couse they wanted to play DVD's... but why do you buy a GAMING console ??? You buy it to play games ! And dreamcast even had online features ! And you got a free mini-game just for having a memory unit !

  • This game took 7 years to make but the dreamcast did'nt live for that long but it was planned for the saturn.

  • no my pal copy has 4 discs, 3 for the game itself and i for the passport

  • i had a dc for resident evil code veronica!!!!!! then the think got discontinued 2 months after i bought it!!!!!!!!

  • LOL but RE:CV was a killer game!

  • your missing disc3

  • Yeah i always thought there was 4 discs.

  • NOOOO! Tell me you're kidding??

  • shit man... you cant finish the game... that sucks :(

  • yeah i noticed that right away. you are missing a disk. too bad it wasn't the passport disk missing since that can't really be used besides playing some music and videos. maybe you can burn the last one or something. though it might have stuff cut out and stuff.

  • nice graphics for a 1999 game

  • Awesome vid,but are you planning on getting 2?

  • Kinda makes me wonder what the dreamcast could've done if it lasted a little longer. It was a good ride while it lasted.

  • Yeah and this game came out in 1999 only months after the system in Japan! Plus I think it was even started on the Saturn. They almost finished the game on the 32bit system when they realized the thing was tanking so they brought what they could over to the DC.

  • I remember seeing the Saturn footage awhile back. Very cool stuff for the Saturn, I can only wonder how many hours they toiled to wring that out of the systems innards.

  • i love shenmue, shenmue 2 is probably my favorite game, also first view, comment and fist 5 star, and yes its pronounced, shin-moo
