He's a majestic, awesome beast. And the creative methods used to give him a cursory checkup was very smart and inventive. I envy folks able to visit this (hesitate to call it by the name) zoo. What a great facility you good folk are running. Thank you for showing the good work you are doing.
Cool cat! He reminds me of my old Rottweiler: "Yeah, I'll do your stupid tricks as long as you keep giving me food, but I'm not going to get excited about it!". I notice the keeper is smart enough to feed him with tongs, though!

Lucifer is Latin for Light Bearer. aka "Morning Star".
references to the Dawn, Sun and Sunrise seem a common theme for male lion names. Maybe its the mane.

i always felt sorry for animals in zoos, but ive been watching all the zsl videos and none of the animals look unhappy
