This is my ultimate wish-list toy being a serious career artist as I am. My Intuos 3 11" works perfect for me right now. I just hate color correcting on these because of the 550:1 Contrast ratio. I love using them, but when I do silk screening and canvas portrait prints, it's a pain. The Electromagnetic Sensor Board is what kills the contrast. I hope one day they get like AMOLED on there and I will purchase it the day it comes out, regardless of price. The time I saved will pay for itself.....

$2000 and they only give you a 550:1 contrast ratio, my $150 monitor has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, wtf? 1000:1 is the highest ive seen! the best monitors have a 1000:1, those are monitors are the ones digital artists use, not some shitty 550:1

@KnobNB anything that isnt crt? hell no, you want a good contrast ratio so you can see the most accurate representation of what you would see in a print, and if your contrast ratio is lower than someone else's, they will see a "higher quality" representation of it, they will see things you likely couldnt, the display is nice, the tablet works well, but unless you want to have another monitor with you i wouldnt get this (not a good idea for a small work space)

@TheArtObsessed Yeah, you're right, but this is 2nd generation of the big one and it have some issues improved, the smaller is also cool and half the price, but I duno if it's good idea to get it (due the fact it's older and they don't do next generations of the smaller one just focus on the big one), becouse it's older... After many years I'd thought I'd finally go in for one of these from Wacom. However, coming back now from all the highend smartphones/tablets now out there -it just appears like the display tech used here and the high dependency of a wired gadget seem painful after using multi-touchscreen phones with SuperAMOLED Plus slim screens with good viewin angles -is there any Wacom out there that has the combo of Wacom sensitivity but also portable as display? Sometimes I like drawing while on the bed :)

I had a hard time getting my Intuos 4, almost 2 years ago, and was able to get it only after looking up these mysterious dealers who as per wacom's website don't exist. Also India was the last place on the Intuos 4 launch dates and yeah, no dealer had it in stock, and was flown in from Chennai, i paid the shipping.

Am looking to buy one, finally saved enough. The Indian price tag is well above 3K USD as opposed to 2K USD in North America, still am willing to take the plunge.

Only one problem, Wacom does not take India seriously at all. Their products are the most difficult to find, at least for me. I have been calling their dealers listed online, and most of them don;t even deal in wacom anymore.

Then when i somehow managed to find some they don;t stock any.

I am really dissapointed with Wacom.

Does it have a thinner screen coating than the old Cintiqe? That was my main beef with the old one. Since there was a thick layer of plastic/glass over the screen, it was quite obvious you were not drawing on it, but drawing on something above it, which always made it feel a bit "unreal" to me.
