  • As a Volunteer Fireman, I love watching these videos. It gives civilians an idea of how dangerous the job is, even if you're just running a support line outside the building! Great video!

  • This is stolen footage from the movie Backdraft. How the hell would the camera have a head on view of that fireman?

I hate fake shit like this

  • great footage. Goodo. Please check out my new fire fighter 9/11 10th aniversity video. To all the heros, Thankyou! - the Bailiff

  • fake

  • If you are talking about the movie - they always are.

Firefighting 101 you always hold up your bunker gear coat arm with fire glove close to the door - if it is hot you will feel it. In backdraft the heat stays in the room or structure the exterior doors, windows, etc will always be hot.

The music is Dj Tiesto - He's A Pirate

  • damn movie maker

  • 28 firefighters got pwned in this vid

  • and flashover is when all the fuels (the products that are "burning") and contents of the room (which includes gases and carbon particles) reach auto-ignition point, which is the point at which a fuel can chemically sustain its own combustion. this occurs between 900-1200 degrees farenheit. combustion is an exothermic reaction, and the fact that the whole fire load in the room is combusting at once, it gives off a great amount of energy resulting in a violent explosion of fire

  • 2:12 was like kaaaaa mee haa me haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :P

  • ughhhh sooooo sick!!! this video makes me grin so big(:

  • Pefect.

  • I really agree with others here. Is there any way we could get this in the "What Firefighters should NOT do" file. There are flashover and backdraft signs everywhere that no one is paying attention too. Hard for me to believe these are really professional firefighters. At about the 2 min mark watch the two guys at the window. At least they recognized the backdraft before it happened and knew to get out of the way.

  • @JDMC42 hha I am not even a firefighter and I would have not smashed the door open -- instead I might have sprayed water into the cracks at least... then again could the resulting steam create pressure and blow the door open...

  • no real fire fighter would go in with his bunker coat open no scba and just now putting his gloves on while going into a damn structure fire you would be crispy inside and out

  • In the first seen, no profesional fire fighter wold walk up to a door like that, and open it, let alone stand right their in front it.

  • @b9consult gotta love the bayonet nozzle at the FD here all trucks have one

  • We had a third floor apartment fire and everyone wore full turnout gear, coats buckled, team of three, small handline, but we didn't enter before checking the door with the back of a bare hand. After that, we attached a bayonet nozzle and rammed it through the door and did not force entry until the door had cooled. I hate this scene. In fact, this is one of worst movies about firefighting made. No need to list all the mistakes made in this stupid scene.

  • @b9consult the bayonet nozzle is an awesome idea. i guess for the sake of a storyline they ignored the OBVIOUS signs of a potential backdraft

  • Bayonet nozzles are also great to have for mud rescues if you guys have to do those.

  • Smoke = Unburned Fuel 2:25

  • The first guy should have been told to always take cover behind a wall or the door before opening it

  • damn that backdraft at 1:16 wiped out those fire men out in a flash man that fire came out of no where

  • @blingkid823

Looks like, yes. But in this sequence you can learn very much about how you SHOULDN'T handle a fire.

First, the two fu**tards without propper protection clothing have nothin' to do on the frontline.

Seccond, the team that is right in front of the entrance isn't situated correct either. If you look at the team at the left of the entrance, these guys are covered by the wall, while the others are fully exposed.

Pretty good film for learning lessons!

  • if you look close enough at the 2:12 second you can see a skull in the smoke from the backdraft

  • Such a awesome movie.

  • asomw video

  • a back draft is when the fire is starved for oxgen, look at the smoke if its going out and in like a breath and u brake a window it will exploed, a flash of can be caused by braking the thermo layers of smoke mix the heated gas to mix the low more explove gas to the hotter on the stop lays the will roll like a wave over the top of u.

  • The recreation at 1:29 was carried out after 48 people died in the Stardust nightclub fire in Ireland back in the 80's. If watch the ashtray on the front table to combusts from the heat.

  • @AC130EMPYREAL a flashover is simultaneous ignition of all combustible materials in a room or structure. Basically when an area in a structure fire reaches a high temperature any combustible materials near the fire will catch fire all at once because it has reached it's maximum combustible temperature.

  • hhheeeyyyy at 0:27 + back draft! love that fkn movie!

  • tom clancy music x3

  • @peanutbuttersticky That's from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Drink up Me Hearties, I believe.

  • @1958debs oh right.. i heard this in one of the tom clancy games though, im sadly mistaken

  • Good shit

  • Epic fail on music.

  • A flashover is the near simultaneous ignition of all combustible material in an enclosed area. When certain materials are heated they undergo thermal decomposition and release flammable gases. Flashover occurs when the majority of surfaces in a space are heated to the autoignition temperature of the flammable gases (see also Flash point). Flashover normally occurs at 500 °C (930 °F) or 1,100°F for ordinary combustibles, and an incident heat flux at floor level of 1.8 Btu/ft²*s (20 kW/m²)

  • Thanks for this video. I use it during classes and it's a perfect example of fire behavior from several aspects.

  • bravo ils ont des couilles

  • A Flashover is when everything in a certain area, say a room, reaches it's ignition point and simultaneously bursts into flames. Lotta Heat, Fire, Light, etc REEEAAAALLLLYYY quickly

  • WHats that song name on the begining>??

  • Thank your local firefighter for all they do.

  • was that back draft or flash over at 1:26

  • @sgtschmitty8013 that was a backdraft :)

  • 2:13 That demon face was scary

  • cool

  • anyone else see the demon face @2:13?

  • @devilsgoalie13 You're right, if you look closely, you can see a large explosion!

  • scary shit man .... whats the best way 2 avoid a flashover?

  • @se5tachi cooling the smoke!

  • @Gregoropolis

thanx 4 the reply buddy much apriciated :)

  • @se5tachi Hit the ceiling with a quick burst of water to cool things down, but not so much that you bring the superheated gases and steam from the ceiling down on top of you

  • @Pyroechidna1

thanx man, i knew the flash over had something to do with the overheated smoke and gasses..

    cheers :)

  • You can see a skull at 2:12 xD

  • the first backdraft was from the movie back draft tim burns there

  • REAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY COOOOOLLLL

    but also bad ;)

  • nice montage 5/5

  • You just had to open the door, although it was not your fault, you should have gotten out asap!

  • Why was that first fire department using a crows nest while fighting fire in the first floor?????! Thats gotta be the stupidest tactical mistake I've seen.

  • @braceyoself777 dont know, i think the main problem was the place where they parked their turntable ladder, cause they wanted to get him out of the smoke and let him down, but he was still in the danger area.

Another mistake was that he didnt used breathing protection in the crows nest.

  • in 40 second the firefighter he aianot see the smoke ,,,,, the flash over is very dangerous and also the back drift

  • Nice use of the pirates music. Hehe. Scary scenarios. Hope I never encounter one up close.

  • poor firefighters T_T

  • beware of the beast it will consume you. it is alive it has character, I've encounter this beast a few times in the past. backdraft our the worst!!!

  • belle video sa montre bien les risque du métier!!

  • 無茶苦茶な防御ですが、命を大切に。

  • *action

  • dam the music really goes nicely with thhe actioc doesnt it

  • Nasty thing!

  • What is the name of that song?

  • @Rangers75th7 Pirates of the Caribbean with some sort of techno remix.

  • A flashover is the near simultaneous ignition of all combustible material in an enclosed area. When certain materials are heated they undergo thermal decomposition and release flammable gases. Flashover occurs when the majority of surfaces in a space are heated to the autoignition temperature of the flammable gases.

  • A backdraft is a situation which can occur when a fire is starved of oxygen; consequently combustion ceases but the fuel gases and smoke remain at high temperature. If oxygen is re-introduced to the fire, eg. by opening a door to a closed room, combustion can restart often resulting in an explosive effect as the gases heat and expand.

  • @oohmydearcarolline So if that is a backdraft, what is a flashover?

  • @AC130EMPYREAL

During growth of the fire, the heat of combustion may heat gradually all combustible materials in the environment and make them reach both their point of ignition, producing instantaneous and simultaneous burning of these materials, because the layer of gas fire that creates the roof of the building during the growth phase of the fire radiates heat to the combustible materials located far from the origin of fire.

  • @oohmydearcarolline although 0:28 was caused by barging in on a baked bean eating contest

  • @nathanwilefrazier

    HAEAEIOUHAEOIUAHEUOIAEHAHOUEHAEOUAEHUOIAEHOAEIU

    THAT IS VEEEEERY FUNNY! xD

  • @oohmydearcarolline excellent wikipedia work, faggot

  • @joemax222

Please respect me. I took it from wikipedia, at least answered the question it, and if that was the problem, why not answer the question it you then?

  • @oohmydearcarolline Hello.. I'm really sorry, but I can't understand you.. Maybe the Wikipedia thing WAS a good idea :)

  • @joemax222

Hi, so ... is something wrong in my answer? I understand about this, not much, but enough to know to differentiate it, but since I can not speak much English, and wanted to help, the easiest way was searching for the answer on wikipedia. Obviously I translated it and saw that something was wrong, as I found nothing absurd, I posted my reply ... :)

  • @oohmydearcarolline So what would happen in an accelerant fire situation being suppressed with CO2 as with certified chemical storage depots? The CO2 pressure is high on the surface but vapors are sustaining combustion in higher ground. Would a backdraft still be probable after the fire was out and CO2 is exhausted but the temperatures are still high enough to cook off the vapors?

  • @oohmydearcarolline someone's doing a bit of copying out of their fire text book :)

  • @oohmydearcarolline Well said, flashover is similar. Where a fire within a building or compartment is burning, the burnt gasses rise to the roof. These gasses are still combustible, and after a certain period of time, these gasses will get hot enough, and at the correct mixture to ignite. where the fire will then consume all the smoke at the roof and eat downward into the room.

  • What's the difference between "Backdraft" and "Flashover"?

  • nice

  • gayiest fucking music i have ever heard.

  • @Firefighter2269 Most ridiculous spelling I've ever seen.

  • mazec...

  • I love this Fire Brigade <3

  • hahahah the first part is from the movie "backdraft"

  • Techno rave pirate fireman.

  • awesome video! great job capturing it all

  • poor friends poor friends....I´m voluntary firefighter in luxembourg and I can just say thats the worst that can happen to you..

  • omg... the smoke at 2:11 looks like a face when it comes right at the camera! Reminds of the Harry Potter cloud of voldemort :P

  • that's nutty!

  • Saw it to! With wide open mouth...

    Nasty :(

  • this is not the tiesto remix. tiesto doesnt start out like the original song.

  • Comment removed

  • gladiator

  • tiesto - pirates of carabeian remix

  • who know the title of the music ?

  • I as a firefighter have to witness this kind of stuff all the time. Im only 18 and i know exactly how these people feel. In training i was a short of kind of back draft. It wasnt real fire or smoke but it gave me a sense of what can happen and what kind of measures you have to take in order for this to really happen.

  • The guy opening the door is ,I think, the only footage from the movie Backdraft.

All the other backdrafts are from real life.

  • pause at 2:13...LUUUCIFER

  • i think the the movie is either backdraft or ladder 49

  • can you tell me the name the movie ?

me puedes dar el nombre de la peli ?

  • i'm just going through essentials now, and all i can say is, i hope i never encounter this shit, at least not up close.

  • flaming hell

    lol

  • Lmao the first guy opening the door is stupid..

  • the guy at :58 should be wearing a SCBA, he is way too close to the fire to not be wearing one.

  • where can i find the full video that's showed at 1:30

  • Great Video.

    Actually gave me shivers.

    5*

  • song?

  • DJ tiesto - He's a pirate

  • 2:12

the smoke looks like a face

  • thats the face of death...lookin at us firefighters in the eye

  • another point I will bring up is that Backdrafts rarely have much smoke [since the room they come from is largely air-tight]. Warning signs of a Backdraft are as follows: Wispy-smoke coming from a closed door; said door is moving back and forth as if 'breathing' [the smoke usually goes in and out and can be missed if you're not paying attention]; Said door is hot to the touch; Windows to the room are black, and have wispy smoke coming from them. If you see these signs, DO NOT OPEN THE ROOM

  • Although I've been out for a while, I can point out several things, and probably bring up some interesting points. One: Backdrafts only happen when the room they originate from is almost completely out of O2, but the heat is still allowing for fire, when O2 is reintroduced to the fire-room, the result is a massive explosion that can seriously injure/kill anyone in it's path. A Flashover on the other hand, occurs when EVERY object in the fire-room has reached it's flash-point. stay alert, be safe

  • I'm a full-time Firefighter in Canada. The first 30 seconds is from the 1991 movie "Backdraft". The rest of the video is real footage. I've seen all of these clips in training videos.

Flashovers happen more frequently than Backdrafts, but they can/do kill or badly burn Firefighters all over the world every year.

The bunker gear FF's wear is not flame-proof and a flashover is VERY BAD NEWS.

  • Damn techno version ruined POTC!

  • actually this film is pretty realistic flashovers and backdrafts can happen like that, sure there is a great deal of hollywood in the first clip but explosions like that can happen

  • Backdraft - Fire starts in a closed environment with little air flow into room, high temp smoke and combustible particles in the air which cannot burn due to no oxygen, introducing the oxygen into the room allows these particles to burn, flames will follow oxygen route at 10 metres per second.

Flashover - Fire in the room heats up other materials in room to their sponteous ignition temp and whoosh the fire seems to spread from one side of the room to another as the materials ignite.

  • its a remix of Pirates of the Caribbean

  • backdraft and flashover are not the same!

  • 0:25 this film is not realstic!

  • name me one! Fire-fighting movie/series that is halfway realistic ;)

  • RESCUE ME; a bit of a nutty show, but they do have some good interior firefighting scenes that portray, to a pretty good degree, what it's like in a fire. Most fires, however, produce almost zero visibility and that's what makes firefighting a very dangerous occupation.

You can't see what you're up against until it's too late.

  • As I'm from Germany, i don't know Rescue me, but I will change that :)

I'm a firefighter, too, and I keep going mad when the guys take off their masks in burning obejects to talk to victims and all the other crazy stuff.

  • this is the film backdraft

  • it is you dumbass that can really happen!

  • 1:13 Ouch, face burn

  • Nice video! Good job!!!
