Well, to be honest, there wasn't much of a reason for them to be motivated, like in Adventure and 02. In adventure, they were lost in the digital world, so obviously there's a clear plot. 02, they had to stop the emperor, in Tamers, their goal wasn't clear, so I don't think that there was a large need to be determined, since all they were doing was stopping rogue digimon. Also, I think the part where you wondered whether it was real or games made it unique.

It still stayed the concept with the first 2 seasons (group of accidental children, with pets, saving the digital world from getting destroyed by a power hungry digimon baddie). That was pretty much season 4 like the first 2. Oh and tamers (season 3) was the one who you should blame it on, since it had a boring ass villain (human).

Loved season 1(Everyone needed megas though), season 2 pissed me off cuz they wasted so much potential. Angewoman and Magnaangemon were much stronger than the ankylamon and arquilamon's ultimates (sylphymon was a badass though). Stingmon should have gotten to evolve into his own line aswell. Season 3 was much darker and I really enjoyed it. Season 4 wasn't bad but kind of blah and again waste of potential only 2 double spirit users. haven't seen 5 and 6 yet

Digimon Frontier was far better than Adventure 02 and at least it had a consistently good plot, with awesome villains (Lucemon and Cherubimon are my fav Digimon villains). To say Savers was anything short of epic from start to finish is just being stupid it's only beaten by Tamers (the best series of all). Savers had a great plot, villains, fight scenes and great characters. Xros wars has only been getting better and could overtake Adventure

First season was the best out of all of them!!^^ i like season 2 + 3 but seasons 4 went down hill for me, i didnt see way transforming into digimon is that special because i like the digimon partners

My order is Season 3 is the best, then season 1,then season 5, then season 4 and season 2 is last. I mean the only reason to watch season 2 after the digimon Kaiser arc is the Blackwargreymon stuff. After he died I lost all interest and the finaly was freaking terrible, easily the worst of them all
