Yes! we are rebuilding the same car, and looks GREAT.. we bought another 700 (from junkyard) and cut that front, to put it on my 740... believe or not its PERFECT... now the car its on 4 wheels again.. and i have almost all the parts we need..
the process of rebuild its in 65% now... and believme, when this car "touch" the road again, will be netter than never... thanks for your comment!!
how fast were you going ? because even though it is a Volvo they still didn't do that good in off set crash tests well for the old models at least and this is a older model and it looks like an offset crash.

This car crashed at 55 Miles/hour, and HERE I AM, so, do you think this car "still didn't so that good"? this car saves my life.. and im not the only one, volvo saves the lifes of a million people.
Estos carros son lo mejor que hay.! estaba buscando informacion sobre las pruebas porque hoy tuve un accidente un un 740 con un autobus, es increible que no les pasa nada a estos tanques. Fue un choque frontal fuerte y lo unico que le paso al VOLVO fue que se le cayo el bumper. Espero que logren arreglarlo completamente ya que no hay un solo carro que uno pueda comprar que se parezca a la seguridad que poseen estos tractores rapidos.Suerte!

Sometimes its hard, sometimes is all wrong, but when i think in that day, "the day", i have all the strength i need to keep in this fight. Love the car, it looks like you and your faimly had some very good memories in the car, hope your 740 gets on the road soon. I have a 1991 Volvo 240 and aposlutley love the car! Never has given me a single problem and still one of the safest cars on the road. Volvo needs to bring back the 240 and 740! Good luck with your Volvo!

In 1995 my grandfather and grandmother were driving at night in their late 80s Volvo 740 GL estate across a dangerous, twisting road at about 35 mph. An idiot came around the corner in a new BMW at over 55mph on the wrong side of the road and ploughed into them. The car behind them then crashed into the back. They were both unconcious and bleeding and were rushed to hospital. Had they been driving any other car they would not have survived.
They bought another 740 GL (1990) to replace that one as it obviously paid to drive such a robust and safe car. They then bought a V70 and the 740 was given to me.

Desde España te mando un saludo y te animo a que le devuelvas el favor que te hizo al salvarte la vida volviendo a ponerlo como en sus mejores dias para que sigas disfrutando de un gran coche.Tengo un 850 T5 del 95 y cada dia me gusta mas, especialmente cuando veo las lavadoras con ruedas que son los coches de hoy en dia.
poco puedo agregar a lo que dijiste, es bueno siempre recibir animo, y seguro que le devolvere el favor!, y estara como en sus mejores dias. Por suerte ya esta en el taller, lo unico que tardara mucho el arreglo, quizas hasta el año que viene, las cosas no estan faciles, pero volvera!. Yo puedo decirte en carne propia lo que es tener un volvo, chocar fuerte y salir caminando, son TANQUES. Me encanta el 850 y mas el T5, te felicito!! seguro que esta en buenas manos, ambos!.
estaba sin cinturon, pero el volvo hizo su trabajo y me salvo la vida. Asi es, sera un auto viejo ya, pero realmente es un TANQUE. por suerte ya esta en el taller, faltara mucho para tenerla en casa de vuelta pero hay que esperar. Muchas gracias por tu comentario! saludos desde Argentina

Hola djdanny como has estado?, te comento que el arreglo esta medio parado, papa tiene algunos problemas de salud y estamos corriendo con todo eso. A medida que van pasando algunos sucesos en el arreglo lo voy filmando, ya tengo algunas partes del nuevo video hecas, pero falta mucho todavia para terminarlo (falta tener el 740 en casa). te mando un abrazo grande, ya te agregue al msn, cuidate y nos mantenemos en contacto!
no sufri ni dolor de cabeza!, el choque fue aproximadamente a 80 km/h quiza un poco mas no recuerdo. Me alegra que mi video te haya gustado! oespero algun dia poder mostrarla arreglada. Para mi tambien los volvo son mi pasion y si la tuviera oportunidad seguramente me compraria una volvo van nueva!!. My dads owned nothing but volvos and me and my dad have a love of 740s that no one understands, He had to scrap his last 740 as the mot was £600 and the cars only worth £100, He spent thousands on it over the years.!
@volvoman124 I Have Had Nothng But 7 Series My Last Car Was A 85 760 GLE and loved her but over here in aus we have a law against rust in out bodies and as such my old girl had to go PRV B28 and had it for neally 8 years and not a ounce of Engine trouble as they were famous for timing chains and head gaskets

My first volvo whas a 245 gle 2.3 diesel SW , now i have a 740 glt 2.0 16v benz SW , but I just broke the engine's distriburion belt and I have to spend lods of money on the engine .
I'm now deciding if fixing the 740 or buyng a 850 T5-R 2.0 benz SW practically for the same money .
Anyway I really love volvos and I understand your feelings about wanting to fix your lifesaving buddy ; )
this video is sad. I own a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT. That car will run forever. I am impressed by the accident. That car did pretty well in that accident. Are you rebuilding that car? If so, Awesome! I want to see the video's that follow

Pedro es lamentable lo de su carro, pero no cree que es mejor comprar ubno nuevo a reparar. El dinero que le va a costar reparandolo sera mas util para otro carro igual que ese. si me gustan mucho, fue al primer auto que me subi y sera el ultimo, mas despues de haberme salvado la vida...mi coche es del año 87, de esa epoca lo mas seguro, un turbo diesel intercooler, de 6 cilindros en linea, y 2.4 litros, que le permitian tener bajo el capo mas de 120 caballos, dicen que era el diesel mas rapido del mundo en aquella epoca no lo se, lo que si se es que te empujaba contra el asiento al acelerarlo.. saludos

poco puedo agregar a lo que dijiste, es bueno siempre recibir animo, y seguro que le devolvere el favor!, y estara como en sus mejores dias. Por suerte ya esta en el taller, lo unico que tardara mucho el arreglo, quizas hasta el año que viene, las cosas no estan faciles, pero volvera!. Yo puedo decirte en carne propia lo que es tener un volvo, chocar fuerte y salir caminando, son TANQUES. Me encanta el 850 y mas el T5, te felicito!! seguro que esta en buenas manos, ambos!.

estaba sin cinturon, pero el volvo hizo su trabajo y me salvo la vida. Asi es, sera un auto viejo ya, pero realmente es un TANQUE. por suerte ya esta en el taller, faltara mucho para tenerla en casa de vuelta pero hay que esperar. Muchas gracias por tu comentario! saludos desde Argentina

ahh!! igual a la nuestra entonces, te entiendo y seguro me entendes entonces cuando hablamos de enamorarnos jaja. La mia ya esta en el taller, pasara mucho tiempoi para tenerla en casa pero habra que esperar y ver como se dan las cosas, de a poco voy preparando el nuevo video a medida q pasan las cosas, pero falta muchisimo todavia. Mira, tu pregunta no ha sido mas oportuna, porque tengo el agrado de contarte que el lunes pasado, luego de 4 años y medio de espera y lucha, por fin hemos podido llevar el auto al taller!!!. el arreglo recien comienza pero ya es inminente la reconstruccion del volvo!. Igualmente ya estoy haciendo el nuevo video que te adelanto sera dividido en 5 partes! (lo vere mejor cuando la volvo ya este en casa). Te mando un gran abrazo!!!

Hola djdanny como has estado?, te comento que el arreglo esta medio parado, papa tiene algunos problemas de salud y estamos corriendo con todo eso. A medida que van pasando algunos sucesos en el arreglo lo voy filmando, ya tengo algunas partes del nuevo video hecas, pero falta mucho todavia para terminarlo (falta tener el 740 en casa). te mando un abrazo grande, ya te agregue al msn, cuidate y nos mantenemos en contacto!

no sufri ni dolor de cabeza!, el choque fue aproximadamente a 80 km/h quiza un poco mas no recuerdo. Me alegra que mi video te haya gustado! oespero algun dia poder mostrarla arreglada. Para mi tambien los volvo son mi pasion y si la tuviera oportunidad seguramente me compraria una volvo van nueva!!. My dads owned nothing but volvos and me and my dad have a love of 740s that no one understands, He had to scrap his last 740 as the mot was £600 and the cars only worth £100, He spent thousands on it over the years.!

@volvoman124 I Have Had Nothng But 7 Series My Last Car Was A 85 760 GLE and loved her but over here in aus we have a law against rust in out bodies and as such my old girl had to go PRV B28 and had it for neally 8 years and not a ounce of Engine trouble as they were famous for timing chains and head gaskets

Pedro, que pena la de tu auto, si mi auto de toda la vida, resultara asi de dañado me pondria mal, pero lucharia por recuperarlo, el dinero no es lo importante sino el valos sentimental. Suerte con la recuperacion. :D

My first volvo whas a 245 gle 2.3 diesel SW , now i have a 740 glt 2.0 16v benz SW , but I just broke the engine's distriburion belt and I have to spend lods of money on the engine .
I'm now deciding if fixing the 740 or buyng a 850 T5-R 2.0 benz SW practically for the same money .
Anyway I really love volvos and I understand your feelings about wanting to fix your lifesaving buddy ; )

The first volvo of my father was a 244 Gl 81', Exellent car!!. Than bought this 740, other exellent car!, so he saves my life too! :).

Pedro es lamentable lo de su carro, pero no cree que es mejor comprar ubno nuevo a reparar. El dinero que le va a costar reparandolo sera mas util para otro carro igual que ese. Ademas debe pensar que lo mas valioso esta intacto y esa es su vida , no cree? Con la vida y la salud a nuestro favor podemos lograr muchos proyectos.

el coche no esta arreglado, esta como se ve el principio del video, pero es un proyecto que sigue vigente a pesar del paso de los años. Quien dice algun dia vuelva a las calles. Se hara lo imposible por levantarlo, de eso no te quepa duda. saludos!

si me gustan mucho, fue al primer auto que me subi y sera el ultimo, mas despues de haberme salvado la vida...mi coche es del año 87, de esa epoca lo mas seguro, un turbo diesel intercooler, de 6 cilindros en linea, y 2.4 litros, que le permitian tener bajo el capo mas de 120 caballos, dicen que era el diesel mas rapido del mundo en aquella epoca no lo se, lo que si se es que te empujaba contra el asiento al acelerarlo.. saludos

si la verdad que hoy lo puedo estar contando gracias al auto. y eso que te llamo la atencion es un sistema que invento volvo, para que el motor no dañe a los ocupantes, tambien podes ver la famosa "jaula de seguridad", porque en un lado ves que practicamente no hay trompa pero el habitaculo esta intacto. gracias por tu comentario y saludos!
