  • WOW... Classical music only can give you absolute relaxation... May I know who were those accompanies ?

  • @brainseizer Harikumar mridangam, Karthick ghatam and Govindaprasad morsing.

  • every time i see this video, i see something new in it. as superb as varmaji is in his play, both the percussionists, harikumar and karthick are wonderful, complementing each other brilliantly. it is fascinating to see the way they compete with each other, adds so much to the song.

  • Yes, you can really make out that he studied with MDR. In fact I've begun to like this one more than the MDR rendition of the same:) It's sweeter.

  • Really great rendition. You can tell that he studied with MD Ramanathan. Could you please post the rest of the concert? Would be much appreciated, thanks a lot for posting this.

  • I love this too very much myself. I am sorry that I don't have the video of the whole concert. Varma ji says he is STILL learning from M.D.Ramanathan :-)

  • Cant agree with you more about Sir Ji's rendition reflecting Sri M D Ramanathan Style.

  • Ive heard this kirthana rendered by Smt MS

This is The best veena version of the kirthana.

Varma garu is very gentle with his veena strings .His veena rendition reminds me of the Late Chittibabu, the veena maestro of 50s.

He too used to handle the veena strings very gently yet produce great nada from them.
