Do the Raeleans believe in an afterlife? I agree that God is highly overstated, but the afterlife (astral plane) has nothing to do with God. I like the scientific, rational approach of the Raelian Movement. I remember resenting being asked to pray to a "god" which seemed like an unclear mystery when I was four years old. If you allow me to reply, this is not quite true. We actually aknowledge the origin of religions as all coming from teh same source, the Elohim of the Bible. (and many other ancient writings) And we have never claimed to provide proof. What we provide is a rational, nonmystical explanation for creation of life on Earth.

The word "Elohim" in the Bible is a plural, not singular. It was translated thru time to a singular "God", but is actually so ancient that no one knows its origin. In very ancient Hebrew (a mixture of cultures then) it meant "those who came from teh sky" just as "Nephelim" meant "those who were cast down". (ref: Z Sitchin)

Because if you read the original Hebrew text you will find ELOHIM and many other PLURAL words but not God. And even in wrongly translated bibles, the attributes of God (omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience ) are not present! For example it is written: "I will go there and see what is happening". HE should already be there (omnipresent) and he should already know (omniscience)!! When I first read the book of Rael I decided to open a Bible and could see only humans and UFO stories in it! ;-)
