  • Великолепно!

  • I just watched a video of her doing this song live recorded last summer and this song is just as amazing now live as it was when I saw her do it on the Plugged Tour in 1998.

  • great performance... great times... my first Tori tour...

  • I am currently starting to write songs in this style and it blows my mind how cool and confident she is just laying out her personal history to an entire crowd of people. So inspiring.

  • good old tozza as we used to call her in the playground

  • Whoever can produce such sounds is absolutely worthy of my utter amazement! Wow!

  • fantastica tori...vorrei fare l'amore con te...

  • lovleh (:

  • Splendido pezzo...con la sua voce avvolta dalle sfumature...Fascino allo stato puro

  • HAUUUUUNTING MUSIC!

  • I think it's sad that all of these people continue to comment and be critical of Tori's looks (debating whether she's had 'surgery' or not) when it's really her voice and passionate performances that bring us to love her. No, it doesn't hurt that she's hot, but... ;-}

  • i think the problem people have (me included) is that because of the brow lift and botox that she had had (its not a question of if...she looks totally different)she lacks the emotion in her face that she used to have, which makes her preformances not as enjoying to watch, she is very very stiff nowdays, she has changed alot, i think its a bit silly that people are denying that she has had surgery when she so obviously has

  • I get where you're coming from, but must say that my ears basically make the decision for me since I mostly listen with my eyes closed (you can hear better, and visuals don't distract from the mental act of listening). Yeah, I guess if she looked like a COMPLETELY different person, it may change things a little, but I still feel the same as I did when I creid at my first show 13 years ago.

  • @snowball1988 I agree. Having surgery is her business, if it makes her happy then good for her. But it's a shame that a lot of the emotion has been lost in her performances recently. They seem more like well-rehearsed imitations minus the emotion. I still love her to bits though as no one is perfect.

  • @kevvie100 Her 2010 performances are phenomanol!!

  • @terrapinbrad - So true :) She is pure talant with an amazing voice in a beautiful package.

  • awesome, talented, beautiful!

  • ach, she's GORGEOUS! why'd she get the brow lift?!?

    i love love love her!

  • Shit! When I heard this beautiful song I fell in love with it and her voice... And I really scream when I saw her in this video... She is an angel, really!

  • tomorrow i will see her :D

  • does anyone know where I could find this song's official video???..it was here some time ago, but I can't find it anymore :( really liked it:)

  • fade to red dvd

  • Awesome!

Is that Caiton? And John with long hair? I loved his longer hair. And Matty. :)

  • does anyone know where in dartmoor the video spark was filmed?

i love how tori takes the time out of her day to explain what she is actually saying and what her msg is with in the song, thats very dear to me.

  • she's amazing. a genius.. i'm so sad to see her here tho cause tho she sounds incredible and she looks more beautiful than ever, she has had some surgery done lately and seeing her look normal here is really something to lament.

  • she had surgery? no way! i never thought she being so earthy that she would have surgery.

  • There's no official statement about that. I think lots of people can't cope with the fact that she still looks good at her age. She has some Cherokee in her, though, and Native American women can definitely age as gracefully as she is aging. IDK, maybe I'd believe it if she got a bit of Botox or something, but as far as actual surgery...definitely not. I'm a bit pissed though that someone brings up plastic surgery on every single freaking video of her lol.

  • Tori is indeed a jewel in performing...a very highranked, and a little bit overseen(I think), artist!!

  • Such brilliant artist as Tori just can't be "overseen"! !! As there's can't be too much of masterpieces of art!

  • i think he may have ment "overlooked"

  • yes..I meant overlooked...!

  • im going to see her live for the first time in london england, i cant wait i hope the fans are nice as well as a kick ass performance from mz amos, she could teach the world alot if they would just sit and listen to her and not call her mad as a goose, thats what one of her album reviews said...i kid you not.

  • AYA HIRANO

  • that was 1.59 fox,lol I was looking for it. I don't think she has ever looked more beautiful than she does here. God she makes my heart race. I love red hair and green eyes too. My perfect woman, HOw many of us would'nt like having her sing and play piano in our living rooms??

  • amazing performance. such powerful . touching

  • This song is the perfect of example of using your pain as inspiration

  • i love tori. why did she go and get plastic surgery? she was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats 6.58 ?

  • I've always believed that was the time she saw on her watch or a nearby clock in the hospital as the spirit was leaving her body.

  • i listened to this one a lot when i miscarried. i have had 3 and i'm 26 .

"she's convinced she could hold back a glacier but she couldn't keep baby alive" has the capacity to reduce me to a teary wreck on occasions.

  • what a touching reponse. i wish tori coul get it :) best and love

  • thanks heaps. i did write her a letter which i gave when she came here on tour a couple years back that mentioned spark a lot. i believe 6.58 is the time when she lost her baby. never sure tho

  • @StrangeLittlePoet123 i'm right there now...2nd m/c in 4 months...those lines never spoke to me before, but now they're SCREAMING out loud! and, are hopefully helping...

  • @alissa1church i am really really sorry....yes, i hope they are helping too. listen to what the song is saying, use it for healing.

  • @StrangeLittlePoet123 I am so sorry for your losses<333

  • @StrangeLittlePoet123 exactly what tori was going through in her personal life. check out 'iieeee' also.

  • @StrangeLittlePoet123 :'( You are a very strong woman!

  • la amo

  • WoW ...

  • I LOVE Tori.

  • tori is one of the few musicians i know that can write a song in a major key that is so profoundly sad. this women is a genius!

  • you've obviously never met me

    haha <3

  • First time I've heard this song, believe it or not - I really like it!

  • Somebody needs to get "From The Choirgirl Hotel".. :)

  • Amazing!!

  • B-E-A-U-tiful.

  • beautiful...

  • Even though I hate the word, I have to say it... Awesome.

  • Love it...

  • I was so into her back in the day. Haven't heard this song for about five years, I'd forgotten how ace she was actually. Calling god "the ice cream assasin" is quite inspired. Don't know how for night after night on tour she could sing "couldn't keep baby alive". She's a Good egg!

  • i fucking love your lingo

  • nicotine patches are like smoking a constant cigarette. I quit a 30 year habit with them...I loved them, and I don't ever want to use them again! But Tori....I want around for the duration.

  • I want those photo backdrops of FTCH!!!!

  • to know her music is to see the ..magic spells...

  • Forget all of the BS stuff. This is a beautiful lady. She is pure talent and beauty. A person like Tori only comes around once in a lifetime. Appreciate her beauty and talent.

  • she didn't do the solo,what a jip.

  • i like tori at this weight, she's much curvier, it actually makes her look younger. this is one of my favorites, but does anyone know if she actually smokes though (other than recreational stuff ;) ) "she's addicted to nicotene patches"?

  • She could smoke but I doubt that she does. I think that line was more meant for irony.

  • She doesn't smoke. She is doing everything for her voice...

  • On one of the Strange Little Webcast videos from 2001, maybe Beauty Queen/Horses, she says something like "Does anyone need a cigarette? I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke!" Typical Tori comment lol.

She's said in the past that she just likes the smell of them.

  • She never smokes, but her husband does! She has said that she always buys him nicotine patches when they fly to Australia. ;-)

  • it's my favorite song!

  • I love this era so much! So dark

  • PoshNGinger the song is about Tori's misscariage. Her anxiety that she might not be able to have children and trying to convince herself that she doesn't want to, which she clearly did. She's a mother now though. One of my favourite songs ever. So honest.

  • Wow I was off by a load.

  • Oh wow. I've always wondered what the line "You say you don't want it again and again but you don't really mean it" could have meant... I knew this was about one of her miscarriages, but for some reason that meaning to the line never clicked in my mind.

  • It could be that she is trying to convince herself that she didn't want the baby in the first place, to try and make the miscarriage less painful.

  • I always thought she was talking to the baby (or babies) that she miscarried, like maybe she thought they wouldn't want to come participate in the "circus" of her life with the music and touring and everything else.

I love how Tori can take her own issues and express them in a way that everyone can hear.

  • the baby she miscarried was referenced in the song spark and she carved skeet in a tree in dartmoor for the video, do you know where abouts in dartmoor it was filmed, does anyone?

  • I'm so addicted to this song. This melody is just wonderful. <3

  • Much thanX for this one....Cheers*

  • This song is so powerful and amazing live. Thanks for sharing it

  • why does having a baby have to mean you stop making music like this...?

  • "She's convinced she hold a back a glacier, but she couldn't keep a baby alive"

I really dont know what that would symbolize so I take it literally meaning the women thinks she's pretty much the big dog but she couldn't even keep her baby alive.

"Doubting if there's a women in there somewhere"

So, Tori think this women is not a nurturer and not much of a women anymore.

  • AWESOME!! LOVE TORI, thanks so much for sharing!!

  • i remember this tour, I was a little kid then. tori is one of my main influences, check out my original tunes on my youtube page. I've meet her in person and she is a great person off stage as well.

  • :(***

  • and all the feelings that she put in the song!

she realy is my favorite artist ever..

  • mine too

  • mine too ;-)

  • She is soo fantastic!!!

  • YOU GREAT TORI...!!!

  • fukkin awesome!!

  • Even her transitioning from one microphone (and one voice) to another is skillfully executed; this woman mixes her own tracks while performing. What a face ! (& love that final smile)

  • dude, she only turns to the other mic. the mic over the keyboard is filtered. she doesn't do it on her own.

  • Look up the word 'transitioning' dude...I didn't say she did signal processing by herself! 'Mixing' involves lots of things (like level changes). Tori attempts to capture the feel of her studio recordings much more than most artists.

  • Gorgeous woman, gorgeous voice, gorgeous music.

  • Wow, that's quite possibly the most passionate performance I've ever seen her give...amazing.

  • What a shero she is. In high school I used to play this song every day.

  • So did I. I still treat this song like it was just released today. I wish my alternative singer songwriters will come back. Like, Alanis, Sarah, Tori, Jewel and the Cranberries and Smashing Pumpkins. Man does music suck now...

  • amen to that!

  • I used to listen to it every day last year, and for a while now I havent listen to it... and when I heard it now all the memories came rushing to me.

I remember I had a really big presentation about love in school and I was crazy nervous, but I listened on this and acculy I calmed down...

    I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • God I love her...

  • i love her so damn much

  • By the way, does anyone know when this concert was? Like what year?

    xx

  • 1998. Around the time of the Plugged Tour

  • Thanks (:

  • This is SO incredible :O

And I love the way she keeps swivelling between keyboard and piano :D

    What a genius x

  • what a guitar part, legend!

  • From the same Jools Holland show she did an amazing performance of "cruel" but i can't find the vid, i suppose it's been deleted? anybody know?

  • I miss that one, too, but I think it was deleted, along with her performance of Black Dove. Fortunately, another recording has made its way onto youtube. No such luck for Cruel.

  • damn! that sucks! that was an AWESOME performance of cruel, i remember

  • You can get that song on Yessaid . com, but it's not a video, it's just the audio.

It's a shame, that was an AMAZING performance.

  • searchingmeagain, you absolutely right. Tori amos is a redheaded angel, her voice and lyrics are magical!

  • when i'm listening to her voice, and piano playing,i'm so far away, and my soul is touched...she's an angel on earth, gives us so much of emotions...
