Most asian kids, whether they are born and bred in the west or not, will be able to put on a perfect indian, pakistani etc accent. We grow up watching movies, tv shows in which the actors speak in this accent, we usually have some family member or the other who speaks in this accent. Its really easy for us to copy it.

@LoonyInSpace I also noticed most of these american born desis still speak their native language without an american accent. So basically you just need to use your native accent to speak English and you sound like a FOB. Its all about knowing where to put the stress and how to roll your tongue.
