My car was never wrecked. This is a COMMON quick suggested fix rather than cutting out the metal. You need more clearance for the S5 taillight assembly in one small area.
Maybe you can go over to RX7club(dot)com or teamfc3s(dot)org and ask the thousands of other members if this is the bbest way to do the conversion.

my S5 tails went right in on both my s4's.just need the license plate piece from the s5 or you can cut the s4 one alittle bit

when in doubt use a bigger hammer. and yes u do need a hammer to fit the s5 lights, for the most part.

Apparently you have never done the conversion. That is EXACTLY what you need to do. You can either giver it a small bang or cut metal.
