This happened before the satellite was blown up. So this could NOT be a piece of the spy satellite. It was sparking different colors, not just red. This means that it was made of different elements that burn differently.  It was a Bolide.

Not necessarly made of different so many different elements, even though im pretty sure it was, the colors are often more due to the different gas layers it passes through.
