I lost my 11 mth old golden. We adopted her from a shelter when she was only 7 mnths, I miss her alot. as for @unclesara who lost her golden too, the video helps.

My own Golden Retriever has a deep rich gold color to his coat. I see far too many Goldens these days that are pale blond in color or even pure white, as with most of the dogs in this video. I'm sure they are still good dogs, but the name of the breed gives you a clue of what color they should be. Breeders need to get back to breeding dogs for the correct color or pretty soon they'll be known as "blond" retrievers or even "beige" retrievers. Let's keep the gold in our Goldens!

@ducci13 I just lost a Golden Retriever that was VERY close to me. I have a video up about her. It's called R.I.P Lucky. I miss her so much. You're so lucky to have a Golden. I was going to get one when Lucky had her puppies June 2009, but my dad said no last minute. I wanted a little boy named Bulldozer (Dozer for short). The people who own him now, have sent me pictures, he is such a huge boy now! He looks JUST like his mom. I got a Border Collie puppy in October 2009. She is amazing =)

i was bit and almost killed by a golden about a year ago. but i still love em! they are so loving if trained right! they just need more training than other dogs.

I want a golden so bad! I am ten and my uncle breed his golden. The runt was named Rosebud. They got winged the day before my bday and I wanted one so bad! She got sold and taken away!! I still cry

Court22132 the reason to get a golden retriver is because there the best family dog you can get and there the most non-agressive dog there is. there really great with kids. they are the 4th smartest type of dog and easist dog to train. they are a big type dog but that doest really matter. so theres really not a reason not to get a golden retriver! =D

I know, i agree with everything you said. And i know there isn't much of a reason not to get them, and the bigger the dog the better for me. I like huge dogs... But yea lol, but i mean, all golden retrievers look the same.. and I kind of wnat something more unique. But i am very attached to one of the puppies that my neighbours dog had- I call him Bulldozer and the name just stuck. I originally named him Bulldozer because of how he bulldozes through every single puppy.

@sertrenton actually, they are NOT the most non agressive dog there is. that doesnt depend on breed, it depends on owner. and for easiest to train, it depends on the dog. and the owner. i hate to be negative towards goldens since i love them, but there are SOOOOO many misconceptions out there.

Not sure actually.. I mean Goldens shed a lot more and aren't as intelligent as bored collies. But no idea, its your call. My neighbours golden retriever just had puppies. They are 4 weeks old now =D. I wanted one, but now i realize that- why get a golden retriever?

They are awesome dogs, don't get me wrong. But every single golden pretty much looks the same, but with a border collie or a husky, they could all have different markings, and no border collie or husky looks exactly alike =D. So, i gave up my whole thought on getting a Golden, and now i want a Siberian Husky. So, i might get one this summer. Been wanting a dog since gr.3, and im in gr.10 now.

@sugerpaw I know a golden is still a dog, i didn't collapse the chance. I tried since the puppies were born, but my dad wouldn't let me have one. He is too picky and i have wanted one for years. He would of probably lety me have any kind of dog, it just would depend on the day that i would find one that would appeal to him. he didn't want a golden because the neighbours Golden was dirty and smelt really bad and stuff. So it set off a bad impression to my dog. But Goldens are amazing i know.

goldens are really good. you won't regret getting one. I love collies too but they need an awful amount of exercise (all dogs need some anyway :/) collies are clever and really cute, but if you want a family pet Id go for the golden retriever (especially if you have young childern in the house) because there less jumpy. Look at th dogs behavior rather then their looks. hope I helped, but I can't pick for you, Its your dog I can't tell you what you wan't. go make your choice! :D

@sugerpaw I have a lot of experience with Golden Retrievers. We just couldn't have one because my dad would not let me have a dog for 10 years and im almost 16 now and i just got a dog. My border collie, is the smartest dog I have had experience with, and i am so glad i got her. Sometimes I wish for a different kind of dog because Border Collies get very annoying. But, i tried to get a Golden Retriever. Didn't work :/

A dogs life is too short. This made me cry.... We recently lost a Blue Heeler that was named SAVVY. SHe was Cooper's girlfriend. Cooper is our Golden who is healthy and plans to live a long happy life!
