I disagree. I think Antonov has its own ability to project, construct and build original airplanes. Yes, maybe america was first, who had idea to fly with shuttle on top of cargo plane. The reason, why USSR made the same big things as USA did,is that in age of cold war they have to demonstrate, that they can come up to USA - to declare independency, the independency, which USA shouts about to the rest of world.USSR made guilt on own people,but USA MAKES it on foreign countries.
reason why flying a shuttle on top of a plane is conevntional is becuase its more practical which is why both russians and americans did it..niether was influenced by one another its just the technological limits made this an apparent strategy.

@bestamerica there was 4 or 5 projects of space shuttle, including British, German, Japanese, French, American. German was the best. Americans choose their own having already stolen Korolev's vehicle blueprints. Two tragedies, Challenger and Columbia proved the horrible design. Astronauts didn't like to fly it. Even for a kid this design looks like done by madmen. For Russians it was not economical. Since few years Americans are using Vostok for their payloads. Just do research then say.....
