Be careful man, that 42R hatch I was referring to was on a 4th gear pull the day after Christmas and he got loose and ended up taking out 6 trees and doing a few barrel rolls, he was only at 18psi which was around 550whp, his roll bar saved his life, if he had a passenger he wouldnt of been so lucky.
What was wrong with his Liberty? I hear they are not too happy with street use, hopefully the new PPG stuff is going to be way ahead of the Liberty shit for alot less money.

I just like tuning partial throttle under natural conditions. Not too worried about it for that, especially since we'll be watching the trans temp.

These cars were on Speed Pro and Hondata S200 back then, so we didn't have a whole lot of options. We also couldn't get huge turbine housings back then for these mid-size SC63s/PT67s, so the only way to have solid boost up top was to have a big wastegate spring.
that was stupid, its clear your going to blaze the tires, so pedal the car dont just floor it, sadly I think I could probably drive ever car in this video better than their owners.....

There's no reason to pedal these cars. Ever driven a 700whp+ car on the street? They'll never catch up no matter what you do (unless you've got some sort of ignition cut traction control). 5th gear will break loose from a 100mph roll on. Also bigger turbos don't like it when you back out of them...
Back then, getting everything at cost (close friends of the shop), and with no labor, we were building these for ~$25-30k.
Nowadays, it's even more insane depending on the engine management, trans setup, etc. I've been working with a close friends EK, and with his full Liberty dog box/bell housing, Motec, and basically top of the line components, he's well over $60k.
Definately can go fast for cheaper, but if you've got the money, I'd go all out anyday!

I worked there during the summer because at the time I was still down at Oregon State... But we ended quiting because the owners were all trying to cheat each other, and we didn't want to deal with it. Aside from that we weren't getting paid very much for doing most all of the Honda building/fab/tuning. Will's CRX is almost done again, and I'm working on one of my buddy's EKs that's a big step up from Brian's and Duc's!

granted this vid was made 4yrs ago? So I am assuming you werent using any type of boost by gear or anything and apparently shit tires.
My can handle my friends 42R CX hatch on the street at 25psi on the corn, just takes practice :)
