what i love about this scene is the mis-communication between alice and the others. the others interract and seem to understand each other while alice does not. she even tries to understand them, and tries to go along with the conversaiton, quoting them and everything, yet they still do not listen to her. This seems very similar to how some children must feel in a situation with a lot of adults. The child cannot relate, and the adults ridicule the child for that. This story is classic, genius!
