@kyprospanayides First. All media - newspapers, TV are controlled by USA in ex-communist countries. Right wing political parties are payed by USA and through them is there this kind of politic. In my country and very similar situation is in Czech republic are socialist parties with propaganda to be balanced between west and east. The Russians are not interested in supporting socialist parties, in slovakia is it about 4-5 milions euro :)), because already west bought here everything.

For Russians has no reason at the moment care too much in these countries. They see situation, that soon or later will these countries turn to Russia without their supporting some political parties. For Russia is now most important Ukraine and over there is big fight between CIA and KGB :)))

MOst anti-russia situation is in Poland, they are most fanatical Christians and Americanization is too strong. Most open is Serbia they really love Russians, then Slovakia, Czechs .

This year right parties won only 1.5% and reason is they payed fake socialist party, which cutted 3% out from true socialist party and we have again Yankie party after 4years of socialist, where we were well known as bridge between west and east :) . these tricks is about to make propaganda to any party, as I said itsabout 4-5m euros here, or you become only western country :)

Moscow is a great and to me a safe city to visit ( I can state that without prejudice since I have traveled to many countries), you just have to have common sense and you will be safe. The police (OMON as they are called in Moscow ) frequently patrol tourist areas , and have zero tolerance for muggings and harrassment of tourists of any kind ( which happens rarely anyway). well actually people discovered that English is the hardest language to learn. I am learning how to speak Russian and I feel that its pretty easy but you have to have patience and some determination. Because nothing is easy. It takes some hard work to master a language. Some pronunciation is different. But get yourself a dictionary and a VERB BOOK! If you can find a course book and audio CDs to hear pronunciation you will do FINE!!!! :D

@toooldtorocknroll that's because english has simple verb conjugations and only few articles (the, a, and an) when in those other languages you know i.e german there is, der, die, das, dem, den, des, dennan, ein, eine, einen, einem, einer, eines, einige. so of course english seems the most simple with what experience you have in language. but let me clarify. for asians and middle easterns and hispanics have the most trouble learning english.

I also know three languages besides english (french, german and cantonese) I Believe english is BY FAR the hardest to teach anyone. There are rules that apply in so many different ways and the language contradicts itself all the time. Ask anyone in linguistics english is not a "simple" language.

Russian is much harder than English - the grammar is completely different, but similar to German in some issues. If you know German grammar this will help you a lot in learning Russian
