Also, reacting to older comments, yes its extremely witty and intelligent, and it is all included in the spot on descreption of this video. Quantity over quality. Dont kid yourselves though, this is not on TV only. This is everywhere you look. Few are the pure things left in this world, and i count this show as one of them.
Could it ever be that cancellation isn't an immediate result of the TV networks decisions ? People may be used to "illiterate" programming (quoting Jordan in the same series), a result of TV networks' decisions again, so they are just failing to appreciate quality, hence the low rating, hence the cancellation.
i couldnt agree with you more @korbnep, this is my fav scene of the entire series, when i heard that the series was canceled i literally couldnt believe it, i thot it was some stupid ppl's magazine BS rumor, if that series was on HBO maybe we could've had been watching the 3rd or 4th season of this epic series, 22 episodes of a nutcracker level of creativity from sorkin, @drewfla u r absolutely right, that god we have HBO keeping some good series alive on tv, no more counting on nbc cbs fox abc!
@qiudee simple, there was too much talent. The show was too expensive to make. 30 Rock (which debuted with Studio 60) had a much lower budget because it was essentially SNL people. The ratings weren't high enough to justify paying D.L Amanda Timothy Bradley and Matt and that's the big 5.
I'm from one of those *certain states* And me and my friends loved the show, watched every episode, bought the DVD. Pretty much love everything Sorkin ever did. NBC is terrible at marketing and the show got killed by a terrible similar theme show *30 rock or whatever its called* West Wing was just as *smart* and did well for years. Until NBC gets better at marketing new shows they will continue to die. Kings met a similar fate.
30 Rock was a comedy in a different time slot, and it's fairly smart and well written too. I don't think it's fair to blame 30 rock for killing Studio 60. Both are great shows
This was the best written, acted, directed and any other category you want to mention show on TV. Why it got canceled, I don't know. Other than NBC is an idiot.........
The reason it got canceled was because of bad ratings. Those bad ratings came from certain states in the US, which are also at the top of the list in illiteracy in the US. As you know, this show is very intelligent, very witty, and the timing of the dialogue is sensational. You actually have to be somewhat intelligent to follow along. So basically, the average American is too stupid to understand the show, therefore the ratings were bad, therefore the show got canceled. Yay for Americans
good to know there are some others like me that miss this show. And i agree, there is so much crap in tv and good shows get cancelled. i live on argentina, i know i havent vote, but at least at critics, pleased, hear us!
I loved this show. I waited for it each week. I was crushed when it was cancelled. There is so much crap on TV now. I hate that shows like the Hills can go on while real, talented actors and writers have to have their show cancelled.
It may be pointed out that this was, while it was on, the most expensive show on TV. It was also the largest set as well.
Did the actors know Chenoweth & Sorkin were Immortalized via these scripts? And the plotline on the young writer presenting "Nations" as a hat tip to the beginnings of "West Wing" right through the resistance of the network? This is the finest show that has ever been on tv, & perhaps why we haven't seen Matt or Brad for so long, in mourning.
Hands down the best scene of an AMAZING show!

Wish there was a soundtrack or something where you could get a copy of the song (the lute version)
