  • I listen to each day

  • the hare krishna chant was sivananda's favorite chant.. note that is before the hare krishna movement started in the usa.

Sivananda's teachings have been with me daily since 1962.

today change your self toward true happiness

    rudra of minnapolis

  • thank you for sharing this..i have spent time at the sivananda ashram in woodbourne NY and have such beautiful memories, this took me right back! thank you again so very much.

  • @thefatgoose I carefully restored this video from the original 8mm analog video recognizing its value. Thanks for the comments.

  • Sounds like Koreans trying to sing Elvis. What is this supposed to be?

  • are you sure you are not a poser?

  • Comment removed

  • @mevaishnavi Yes.

  • WaHe Guru! there is a cleansing light that fills the heart and makes miracles

  • Kind of like that old recording of dogs barking Jingle Bells. What's frightening is not the hilarious ineptitude of the performance, but the absolute arrogance and over-confidence and beaming pride in its presentation. Not to mention the pretentious indication of piety. This is high kitsch.

  • I like it. Greetings from Germany. I have been in Canada 1993 and live now since 22 years as a yogi in a wood near Hamburg.

  • What is this cacophony? Arhythmic, atonal, no attempt at proper pronunciation. Neither western nor Indian nor musical in the least, nor in any way devotional. Nothing but pretentiousness. My ears are bleeding.

  • @bc9021010001

how do you know if it is devotional or not?

  • @mevaishnavi Teaching generations that this is an example to follow is heinous. Praising the divine does not sound like this noise after decades of practice by a master. This is a confused poser.

  • One of my favourite chants! Can add it to my YouTube playlist now - thanks for posting :o)

  • Thank you so much! I was looking for this.

I went there about 2 and half years ago.

Now I'm wondering whether he is still staying in the ashram.

I really hope I will see him again.

  • @miyakoyt Thank you! This is the best video that I have. It is just perfect. The general atmosphere is just great!

    This Ashram is gorgeous!

  • thank you for posting this. Reminds me of the 3 months I stayed at Val-Morin Yoga Camp. Do you know where I can find the words to this chant?

  • it isnt sivaswaroop - the close up comes right at the end!! x

  • It's Srinivasan.

  • Sivaswaroopananda!!!!! Love that guy!

  • namaste to all,did my ttc in ney -yar dam ,trivandrum ,enjoy this very much..siromani mahadev claudio

  • It warms my heart!

  • Om Namah Sivaya!

    Vande Gurudev Jaya Jaya Gurudev

Jaya Sri Gurudev Jaya Jaya Gurudev

  • Listening brings more than a tinge of sadness that i am not living ashram life anymore

  • In my TTC, he actually taught a lot of yoga. He is so talented and wonderful :)

  • Respect and souvenirs. I went in Rishikesh 2 days after Indira Gandhi's murder ; here and there in India, violence burnt between Sikhs and Hindus. But DLS (Shivananda Ashram) sang through its loudspeakers : "Om Guru Nanak !". I'll never forget it.

  • this is good but iwould like tose sivananda singing

  • Hare Krishna and thanks

  • hey, just came back from canada ashram where i did my ttc, and finding this is a blessing, thanks

    om namah sivayah

  • It appears to be the ashram in Woodbourne, NY rather than the one in Canada.

  • very good remind me ashram life in india

  • sometime i think that silence is also hindu:)we are all worshipers of hindus, we think that this hindu old fashioned gurus worship is the thing that we must repeat and repeat.i am sure we are mislead:).silence is not hindu so let all this huge worshiping be there were it is rooted in india.

  • hearing this chants takes me back to the Ashram in the Nassau.

    Found myself joining in.
