Bruce fan and I know his voice isn't perfect but it doesn't have to be his showmanship and his passion for his music and his audience overshadows the imperfections of his voice. As for Bon Jovi I have never been a fan of his music but as a person I think he's great. New Jersey is lucky to have both of these men call it home and I am very happy to brag that they are ours.
I agree that the range doesn't make the singer. I personally think Ozzy Osbourne is a great singer even though... well we all know how his range is non-existant anymore. And for those that think he never had a range, listen to the song Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Dont get why people compare these two, two of rocks biggest ever names on stage together and people still complain. What more do you want, just shows the world we live in. Just remember, none of your opinions matter. Bruce obviously appreciates how amazing Bon Jovi are, so should you. The haters are idiots, 125million Bon Jovi Fans cant be wrong.
@PaddyCollins8 I've found that a lot of very hardcore Springsteen fans haven't listened to much other music, really, than Bruce Springsteen. Same with a lot of Zeppelin fans I know, visa-ve other hard rock bands, been out since 1980. ... With the Springsteen fans it's not that they haven't heard other artists, but they haven't 'listened' to anyone else (including Bon Jovi, or almost anybody from the "hairband" era ... which though some crap there were/are a lot of talented songwriters, from)

being from new jersey its absurd that they did this in Texas no offense to the great state of Texas but they are Jersey boys and nobody loves em more than New Jersey. A Springsteen and Bon Jovi concert in NJ is unlike any concert anywhere
What's Jon's problem here? His dancing is really a little strange. I guess as soon as the boss is directly next to him on stage he gets nervous, right?
Now I ask you --- would you rather have Springsteen and Bon Jovi representin' Jersey.......or the retarded guidos from Jersey Shore? YOU MAKE THE CALL.
@ fredriquemagic jersey boys rule...& i'm just a dumb chick from australia. i've been listening to The Boss since around 1974 & he can still rock it with the best of 'em....as for JBJ, that boy did the hard yards & he & his band deserve respect. no one gets a recording contract handed to them on a silver platter unless it's a case of nepotism sans 'cyrus' & a few others. they're good, hard rockers who've done it hard & done it good. & they've both got awesome voices,i've seen them both live.
I actually knew about Springsteen before I knew about Bon Jovi. But JBJ grew on me fast... thanks for the upload. Still kicking myself for not going to this show!
BON JOVI rocks, and they made themselves a LEGEND just like Bruce did, nobody manufactured them, don't know what newspapers you've been reading. They're awesome, and Jon has a beautiful voice!
Comparing Bruce Springsteen to Bon Jovi is like eating frozen lasagna and eating lasagna in Italy. They both are good in there own right but Jovi will never have the Authenticity of Bruce. Sorry, dude, you honestly don't know what you are talking about. JBJ sweat hard and worked his way into his own record contract at a very young age. He was out playing bars in high school. He physically walked his demo's into radio stations to try to get air play. He finally lucked out--the good old fashioned way. He's not a Disney creation.

to that comment about Bruce Springsteen not being known as a great singer well that is your opinion. Sometimes singing isn't all about vocal range its about emotion, consistency, and the ability to connect with an audience that of which I find Bruce Springsteen does better.
Bruce Springsteen is not known as a great singer. It is not the person's opinion. He's not known to be a great singer; period, end of story. Jon isn't either, by some. (John Wetton, of the band Asia is a way better singer than both of them, but he's not near as big). Bruce's fans like his songwriting, and his spirit ... and who connects better with an audience is totally subjective - that is it's not measurable ... the Jovi fans will say Jon and the Springsteen fans will say Bruce Springsteen
@Padarack1 Semantics. I happen to think The Boss is one of the best singers to have lived. Cos I don't think the job of a singer is to perform vocal acrobatics and impress technically - its to connect emotionally with the song and take the listener on a journey. So I call BULLSHIT; He IS known as a great singer, by far more people than me. Again, its all about the semantics.
@dtheman17 I think you´re right that singing isn´t always about vocal range and I also think Bruce is an excellent singer but he doesn´t connect better than Jon Bon Jovi does with the audience. These days Jon´s singing also isn´t what it used to be once but he still ignites every heart in an audience.
I never liked it when the lead singer didn't have an instrument they always have that look on their face like "I should be doing something." But I think Mick Jagger figured it out. parade around like a chicken and look constantly suprised by the microphone.
I agree. Learning the guitar isn't that hard, and it does wonders for a lead singer's image. Hell, you don't even have to learn it. Just hold it and pretend to play a few chords. But at least you won't look like a fool.
Make you look like a fool? You look like a fool with that comment. That's like saying the drummer's an ass if he doesn't sing! Singers are meant for SINGING and ENTERTAINING. And Jon Bon Jovi does it extremely well. If he's singing, he's doing his job. And he DOES play guitar just not every song, and when you're doing a collaboration both usually don't play the guitar, Bruce is! I doubt there's a need for two (3 if there's a guitar player).
Well keep in mind Bruce is the lead Singer and Bon Jovi is not. That thing that Springsteen is playing is a instrument I think they call it the Guitar. He's the Best No one beats Bruce.
Im a fan of both & have seen both in concert many times. Bon Jovi is great, but NO ONE can compare to the greatness that is Bruce Springsteen. There's a reason Springsteen shows are considered to be "legendary"..thats because they are!The man has had a career spanning 40 yrs producing great album after great album. I don't know how he does it coming up on his 60th birthday..the joy & energy he packs into every live show defies logic. Thanks Bruce, for always givin your fans everything you've got!
I can't agree with you anymore. I am only 21 years old and back in September I finally had my dream come true and attended a Springsteen concert here in Tampa Florida. Now I knew it was going to be magical but I had no clue just how good it was going to be. Now sometimes when you go to concerts you have some jerks in the crowd well every body seemed to enjoy it and just be in awe of the greatness that is the "boss" I enjoyed reading your comment it made my night...
Very few musicians with large stage shows are without them these days, particularly if it is a big setlist. Usualy they look like the vocalist's monitors (as in the PA speakers) so you never notice them.
Metalica, Stones, The Who, they all use them. With a show as big as bruce's Im not at all suprised he has them. Its usualy there just in case, I'm sure the boss' memory is fine.
Very true, and I'm pretty sure the prompters are more-so for jon in this case. I can't imagine Bruce not knowing his own "Glory Days" when it is one of his best known songs AND he worte it! But yeah even if it's just Bruce he may look at it if he says "what's that line coming up again?" and he looks and remembers. Also, Bruce has 100 + songs and his shows are 3 hours long with 27-30 + songs each so you can't blame him if he forgets a line or two
I must disagree. At a Bon Jovi concert, Jon has a lot of presence, and his vocal range is much more than Bruce's. Bruce isn't known as a great singer, but, then again, neither was Bob Dylan. Must say that I prefer Bon Jovi music, a little harder than the Boss'
OMFG!!!I want to see them both together.Must be like....dying!!!Jersey rocks!!!!I´ll be at the bosse´s show in Bilbao next 26th.Bruce,take Johnny with you!!!!Ha,ha,ha
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. Bon Jovi is obviously my favorite band, and Bruce Springsteen is amazing! i mean, i grew up listneing to them. They are both amazing, and when you put them together you get. ... double amazing ! Thank you for posting this, it's like my favorite video ever <3<3
And the next night Bon Jovi rocked the AA Center...AMAZING show. Was a little sad Bruce didn't return the favor and encore there. Funny I went all the way to TX to see these two Jersey Boys...what a road trip! :P
the best possible combo in the music biz.. right there... and its all from NJ baby!! also.. throw in billy joel at the piano/keyboard.. then u got an NJ trio... (billy was born in hackensack, nj but w.e)
I heard that when Bon Jovi was starting out the Boss told him "you'll never make it" or "don't quit your day job". Gee, I wonder who had the last laugh.
jon not a bruce fan! derrr.. jon used to clean up at the studios where bruce used to play! he is one of his idols!! every jbj fan worth his weight in salt knows that! this must have been a dream come true for him.
A coment that made me laugh it was from wawanee when he says Jon is not a Bruce fan, when every Bon Jovi fans that read his storybook, know that Bon Jovi in 1978 was selling posters to see Springsteen in Madison Square Garden!
Bon Jovi loves Springsteen a lot, and the better example is the way as he moves in stage with the guitar in his hands. All his actions look like Springsteen.
i dont like Springsteen and Bon Jovi, however some coments here made me laugh a lot. I´m goin to explain better- Someone here from Australia says JBJ has more popularity than Bruce?? Where?? Maybe in Australia, cause here in Sweden (where i´m studing) 120 000 tickets for 2 Springsteen shows in July sold out in less than 2 hours. Last year, in the same stadium Bon Jovi tickets (60 000) for one night show sold out in a week...
well that only proves that Bon Jovi have to get back to tour SouthAmerica if they don't want them in Sweden...don' t worry come down here we're millions willing and able to buy all the tickets !!!
@CarlosLeao Well, Sweeden and the rest of scandinavia adore Bruce..I dont think that is true for other places in the world. In asia Bon jovi rule, in south america to..
the records sales alone says it..the ongoing circle tour says it. Like Smokie and mark knofler, Norwegians (I am a Norwegian) has a love for Bruce S.
NEW JERSEY is seriously a special place. To produce stars like Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Aerosmith... just to name a few is really special.
Hats off to JBJ also who clearly knows that he well and truely overtaken Springsteen in the popularity stakes but still gives the elder-statesman center stage. That is why JBJ is universally adored & cherished.
i was at the show in front of bruce's mic. no way in hell he was nervous about jon bon jovi. he had to force jon to work the crowd, too. and i bet jon would tell u himself who the real boss is.
Yeah but keep in mind, Jon was only singing a bit and he didn't have a guitar or anything so what was he supposed to do the whole time, dance? I think they're both awesome and im sure they both respect each other.
Let's be clear that Jon is the guest here and you don't show up a legend. If Bruce came on with Bon Jovi it would be the same thing only Bruce would be the one toning it down.
Bon Jovi are my all time favorite band. Seen them 1o times and love them. Seen Bruce twice and love him as well. Fucking great video, and I'd kill to be there.
bruce is brilliant and original. bon jovi is a bit too fabricated for my taste. I think he's a little more focused on his image rather than his music. Or maybe I'm just Bruce biased. haha.
I definitely prefer Bruce over Bon Jovi. I think Bruce has a certain quality that just can't ever be reproduced - he's accessible and untouchable at the same time. I have to stop myself from expecting other artists to have it, because they just don't.
GREAT BRUCE VIDEO!! I have a teen-oriented, hockey themed book coming out in October which has over 25 Bruce song and characters from Bruce songs, references (the hockey team is named the Magic Rats, the lead character plays hockey "undeneath Abrams Bridge" etc)!!
I did a promo video for the book and you can see the video by just clicking on my name.
The guy definately rocks, I think I've seen him at least 6 times in Montreal since 1985, and may I say each show being better than the last. As far as Hot goes,m a guy so I can't say but i will say he's aged like fine wine. Gotta love the boy he's always been in it for the music and for the fans !!!
There's something supercool about people who have roots in Jersey for whatever it's worth i find them to be grounded and very gritty souls. Everyone i've ever met from there has always left me with a really good impression.
You won't get an agrument from me...Jersey born & raised. Let the world diss us all they want...we know Jersey is the best kept secret. A place that's given the world JBJ, Springsteen & Nicholson has to be cool.
LOVE IT!

These two should really do a proper collaboration together. I mean, it's not often two of the biggest artists come from the same place!

And the next night Bon Jovi rocked the AA Center...AMAZING show. Was a little sad Bruce didn't return the favor and encore there. Funny I went all the way to TX to see these two Jersey Boys...what a road trip! :P

I heard that when Bon Jovi was starting out the Boss told him "you'll never make it" or "don't quit your day job". Gee, I wonder who had the last laugh.

jon not a bruce fan! derrr.. jon used to clean up at the studios where bruce used to play! he is one of his idols!! every jbj fan worth his weight in salt knows that! this must have been a dream come true for him.

how cool would it be if bruce brought jon to the superbowl that would be the best halftime show ever
KWJVS125 2 years ago
A coment that made me laugh it was from wawanee when he says Jon is not a Bruce fan, when every Bon Jovi fans that read his storybook, know that Bon Jovi in 1978 was selling posters to see Springsteen in Madison Square Garden!
Bon Jovi loves Springsteen a lot, and the better example is the way as he moves in stage with the guitar in his hands. All his actions look like Springsteen.
CarlosLeao 2 years ago
i dont like Springsteen and Bon Jovi, however some coments here made me laugh a lot.
CarlosLeao 2 years ago
well that only proves that Bon Jovi have to get back to tour SouthAmerica if they don't want them in Sweden...don' t worry come down here we're millions willing and able to buy all the tickets !!!
smile95007 2 years ago

Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
amakdissi79 3 years ago
Is true...but Aerosmith is not from New Jersey. They are from Boston, Massachusstes. Peace.

It's the Zirilli, Bongiovanni and Tagliaferri true Italian blood that makes these artists so great!

This is the greatest.
I'm a lil' disappointed that JBJ is reading the lyrics on the stage as he sings though. Everyone should know the words to this song. 1:23

i was at the show in front of bruce's mic. no way in hell he was nervous about jon bon jovi. he had to force jon to work the crowd, too. and i bet jon would tell u himself who the real boss is.
seanr1122 3 years ago 5
Yeah but keep in mind, Jon was only singing a bit and he didn't have a guitar or anything so what was he supposed to do the whole time, dance? I think they're both awesome and im sure they both respect each other.
SpiffySchmugen 3 years ago
Let's be clear that Jon is the guest here and you don't show up a legend. If Bruce came on with Bon Jovi it would be the same thing only Bruce would be the one toning it down.
It's about respect is all.
pschwartz89 3 years ago 2
Bruce really does look nervous performing with the one boss!

Ah, yeah, Jon looks like he's being neutered being on the stage with Bruce. And rightfully so.

they're friends... jon just doesn't like it when people think he's trying to be bruce.
lilkenobi 3 years ago 3
bruce is brilliant and original. bon jovi is a bit too fabricated for my taste. I think he's a little more focused on his image rather than his music. Or maybe I'm just Bruce biased. haha.
NicoleRose88 3 years ago 3

Email me w/questions or comments!
Thanks!

Ever since Bon Jovi cut his hair he moves like a douffus to compensate. Still think the guys a star though.
mtlsixshooter 3 years ago
Jon will be the first to admit he can't dance. He's always said that he has like 3 moves. But for some reason, he still looks hot to me..LOL
Terri823 3 years ago
The guy definately rocks, I think I've seen him at least 6 times in Montreal since 1985, and may I say each show being better than the last. As far as Hot goes,m a guy so I can't say but i will say he's aged like fine wine. Gotta love the boy he's always been in it for the music and for the fans !!!
mtlsixshooter 3 years ago
Couldn't agree more. And I have to say it's nice to see a guy stick up for him. And I do feel Bon Jovi has always been a fan's band.
Terri823 3 years ago
There's something supercool about people who have roots in Jersey for whatever it's worth i find them to be grounded and very gritty souls. Everyone i've ever met from there has always left me with a really good impression.
mtlsixshooter 3 years ago
You won't get an agrument from me...Jersey born & raised. Let the world diss us all they want...we know Jersey is the best kept secret. A place that's given the world JBJ, Springsteen & Nicholson has to be cool.

There was also a guy who went by the name of Frank Sinatra, now in my book he was the definition of cool.
