Good performance! (I play this too with my band like nearly all coverbands in germany playing it^^). But it's the same "problem" on the x8 with the original patch as on my korg m-50 . The patch sounds too brassy and not really like the original sound. But im sure it's possible to setup a patch or combination that sounds just like the original. For example by layering a saw sound and a synthetic brass sound....

That patches that come with our keyboards gets very very close to the ones we have on the original songs! I'm sure that with a bit changes we can get more close to them.... but it takes time, patience.... but I like the patch that came with my fantom. But my sound equipment is not so good... so it could have give the wrong impression for you. Sorry for my english mistakes!

@cenergen I use a Yamaha YPG - 235 and the voice effect "Fargo" sounds very close to the original. idk if this will help you at all, but it's worth a shot.

Hi dude! I would like to find a place like this, with free patches, but I don't think it exists. I've done several searches for patches on the internet and I didn't find anything! The great tip is costomize the Fantom patches. Select the patch and press "patch edit" and make your own patch! You can make very cool things with this! Thanks for the comments!

on the fantom x8 are the keys heavy like a a piano or are they just plastic(light)?

Hi dude. Thanks for the comment! All the keys on the Roland Fantom X8 are heavy like a piano. The plastic ones are used on the X7 and X6. This heavy keys makes the X8 a very heavy keyboard. X8 has 30Kg! The other Fantoms are not so heavy as X8, because of the light keys. See ya!

Are you using a footcontroller for sustain, or is the decay of the patch actually that long? (don't have a fontom)

Hi dude! Thanks for your comments! You can adjust the decay time in Fantom Keyboards (you can do this in many other mid-end keyboards) but if you see, there are many different notes with differente decay times. If I set a decay time, it'll be set for every note I play. So, I'm using a footcontroller for sustain. You can't see, but I'm using. There's no way to play this music without the footcontroller!
