your produce guy....you suck...apples are one of, if not thee most grown and cultivated fruits, oranges dont suck, apples dont suck but your lack of interest in anytype of organic growing does.... stop being so subjective...everybody different...p.s you seem to like the word suck...
According to the University of California Cooperative Extension, Anna, Ein Shemer and Dorsett Golden will grow well in areas that experience very little or zero sustained winter chill.
@5Language Quite honestly, those apples are apples that most everyone has never heard of! We had an apple tree in CA growing up and on occasion it would get cold enough that we would get snow (we were at 1500 ft above sea level at the east end of the Los Angeles basin), but those apples never got big or tasted good. Fact remains that the sweetness of an apple develops after the first frost. So, while apples will grow for personal use, any commercial production is not feasible.
@5Language Well, look at it this way. You need to celebrate the fruits and other things that thrive in your area. There are so many things we wish that we could grow here (mangoes for instance) that will NEVER grow here. So, we need to be excited about peaches, cherries and apples and go to the store to get some nice mangoes. You have local advantages that we don't here, and vice versa. Thanks for watching.

Ahh.. now I'm in the mood for apples. I know there are some orchards near my house, so I have to see what they have available to pick these days.

Great info, great video. Thanks for posting. I could almost taste that slice of Golden Delicious when you bit into it at the end of the video. :-)
