Brilliant music even without the great lyrics and wonderful avant guard vaudeville bizzare humor. Taken altogether its obvious there will never be another like this.
They were already ahead of them...this track alone shows how ahead of the pack they were at the time. Angular weirdness, alien riffs gone pop...what more could one want in 1976?
Never heard this before. Like a lot of their stuff, it's a little bit outside the box. This is cool, though, and it exemplifies how creative and brilliant they were. They were ahead of their time, for sure.
@bluejeckett I almost posted exactly the same thing. Then I saw your post and thought, "Oh, someone intelligent already thought the same thing....lol.
Dizrythmia changed my attitude towards music, for the better. 1977 i was in hospital and had a copy of this on cassette. It helped get me thru-we became great mates-thanks guys. i will always

Brilliantly original compositions, magical musicianship, smart lyrics. They don't make 'em like this anymore. National treasures.
"I'm down, you're (a)cross" - all relationships are like that at times.

More than ahead of their time...nothing has been done like it before or since...Split Enz were in a category all of their own...pure genius.

Loved it. Saw them in 76 in Wellintgon Town Hall - theatrical, ahead of their time.

This was right before the band transitioned into a New Wave/Pop band and had to contend with the likes of XTC and Squeeze.

Yep, on the DVD release.
This isn't an official clip, so far as I'm aware; it's from an NZ TV show - note the studio applause at the end...
