Okay. I admit, I'm in love with Taylor's performance. He is truly a professional and he has so much soul and passion. I watch this performance several times a day. It makes me proud.

I honestly think Chris Daughtry was a perfect pre-packaged guy, but there is no way you can claim he is as talented as either Taylor Hicks or Elliot Yamin. Both of these guys can hit minors, fifths, ninths, etc...Daughtry has far less "soul" which I find to be integral in determining talent.
(C) thought he was better than everyone else there, where you have Taylor, and KAT, even Elliot showed more like they wanted this. @chattykaye1 He's actually released 2 CD's since idol and came out with a concert CD as well. He's been doing some concerrts as well but has been focussing on opening a restaurant in Birmingham. So he is quite busy and has had some CD's released :D
he got denied to be on the radio because his music didn't fit in the pop music category, so he focused the most on live performing, he made the most money on tours although he was denied the right to be on the radio... people paid station not to put his music on the radio...

You Know, Taylor HIcks gets a lot of flack but his first CD is good. It's just not a sell out where he tried to be something he isn't. I still listen to it more than any other CD. I think Yamin was very talented as well. Daughtry is a bit overrated and didn't have much charisma on stage. Overall, I think we got it right that season.

When Chris got voted off, I about fell off my couch. A few tears came to my eyes. I was 40years old. My husband of 43 voted too. He also had a heart attack (not seriously). Yes, I voted, I tried..the lines were constantly busy. I felt he was safe. We went to bed. The next night? Be both rooted for Katherine. But Taylor? Who Paid Who?

First of all American Idol and Clive Davis spent no effort in promoting the CD and getting radio airtime. All of their efforts went into making sure that the no-hack talent Christ Daughtry could make it in the industry because they felt sorry for him.
The 1st CD is really good if you have it and listen to it, but it needed just a tad more of a really good guitarist, someone famous to land on the track.

I feel like season 5 was a fluke.
Minus Chris Daughtry, Elliot Yamin, and Kat McPhee, season 5 really didn't bring out that much commercial success.

but its still impossible. about 37 milion watched the finale. and only about half of those actually vote. so roughly 20million vote. it's impossible to have 500 million votes. and the idol 06 finale had 67 million votes. they say how many votes they get at every finale

Taylor may not be the best singer in the world but he is a very classy guy. :)
I guess one reason why he won was because that he's entertaining, really swee, and a fun guy to be around with.
He deserves to win!
I 100% agree that this season the greatest and most entertaing.
Since this season, American Idol is being truely unfair to many hopefuls.
