@janeesymone: Yeah. He wasn't expecting a surprise party, even if it was his birthday. Just like Mickey is Walt and Minnie is Lillian, Oswald is Roy (Sr.). That said, to quote Uncle Walt himself in 1993, the two mice are married in the same way he & Lillian are...they privately married but live like they aren't for public appearances (also hence why the two mice have separate houses in order to escape the media), since the Disneys always kept their personal lives & professional lives separate.
