This isn't a story suggestion, these are fan requests. Cohesive ideas for a story come through more in themes and specific events, not vague suggestions for more or less of something from a previous game. Your "story" suggestions are more gameplay ideas that don't have any implementation strategy.
These could work as ideas for gameplay, but would require much more careful thought and planning were any of them to pass beyond the realm of ideas.

@vito015 In fact, I was just kidding, because in most of zelda games, the water temple is pretty annoing. I know also this is alway boring to see always temple that are not pretty original. Too many "shoulds" and way too many assumptions that the new Zelda is going to be based off TP.
Replace the "shoulds" with "coulds" or "would be nice to", and get some fresh ideas instead of just suggestions on how to improve a game that will probably have very few connections with the new one.
Miyamoto himself said he's looking for fresh and original ideas, so copies of old ideas are almost out of the question.

As you can see, this video is already old, you know... I did this when nintendo didn't show their new artwork. When I did this I was excited for these ideas I put on it, though I know they're old school ideas. The only idea I can support of this video is the new skills with the sword and that Dark Link must appear this time as a rival.
I think they should create actual cities for the other races The so called "city in the sky" was more like a dungeon in the sky, it made no sense. I want to see where they LIVE. I want to see their art, and culture.
Also, less cutscenes. TP felt like Metal Gear Solid in the sense that there were too many movies to watch. Remember ALTTP? The only time you weren't playing was when you were listening to the maidens after rescuing them. More dungeons, Less movies.

heres a great idea put zelda in a final fantasy 7 or 8 environment. cause who doesn't like to have a sword in modern times. trust me and of course keep it like zelda and not turn based and think about the possibilities like link on a motor bike. and yes not a motor cycle a motor bike and the game would have references to all the zelda games. give link and emo story like why him and why was he chosen or something around that
i like games that is beautyfull and good looking. all fysikal inpressions conbined is 1/3 of the game experience. than musik is included, decign is included, even rumble is included. when looking at it, hi tech graphics isn´t very inportant. whats mooe inportant is how everything works together.

They should make a much more darker game like Majora's Mask which was one of the darkest games of Zelda. Twilight Princess wasn't really dark... more like... "Yay! An adventure!" sort of Zelda...

What if the new Zelda was a continuance of Zelda II.
In this game it is hinted that he will be an older Link.
The Link in Zelda II was 16, and also in TP.
In Zelda and Zelda II I don't believe there was a Master Sword. I know there wasn't in Zelda II.
It is well known that Zelda I and II take place after the events of every game afterwards. In Zelda I there were no towns. In Zelda II there were a few but spread out and very simple.
Now what if the Hyrule of Zelda I and II is the whole continent some how rose back above the ocean again. The continent that was below water in the wind waker series. Its just a thought. Either way the timeline will fall after Zelda II or it will have to be a prequel to everything that has came before it to explain away the absence of the master sword.
Some further suggestions to what You have...The dungeons must be more extensive and like an individual world onto itself..for Mini bosses,subbosses return later and again..then fight the Real Boss of that dungeon as that story progresses...and that's only that dungeon from 1 town/village...
Have a new enemy besides, Ganon+Vaati..a new Gerudo/Female enemy...also give Link a rival..to challenge his positions as the savior of Hyrule... Create more towns...Give characters depth and More S.quests
I think they will be trying to make something like ocarina of time. There games were great as they were but after ocarina of time they started changing the game a little bit.

Im pretty sure we can all safely guess what the new zelda game is going to be about based on the poster Miyamoto has released.(Well i can anyway, its fairly easy.) In the poster, the figure standing in front of link could be a fairy from previous zelda games, but my bet is thats its a incarnation of the master sword seeing as how link isnt wearing it, and the figure has all of the symbols and markings the master sword has.

That sounds kinda cooperative mode in The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King... And in zelda is impossible, 'cause Link is the main and the only character that we use... Your idea is good, but I don't like to think that a -second Link- appears from the nothing with a red tunic to help on the adventure... That will affect the storlyline, you know... But Nintendo should make something like "The Legend of Zelda: Hyrulian Battles" and let two players play against foes in different stages..xD

I think in this new Zelda we will have to share the adventure (once again) with that girl in the new concept art, have you seen it? The girl that is "supposed to be the Master Sword"... i think the masks and the ocarina of time should return...and they should make a mask that disguises you as an enemy of your choice..and the enemies would think of you as one of them when you have the disguise, but if an enemy sees you put it on, they will know its link....

No, he made it out. Remember how at the end the woods changed and he was back where he was at the very beginning of the game. Pretty sure he just went back to Hyrule and settled down quietly. Probably married Malon eventually.
Im always nervous about new zelda games.. as the first one I played was OOT which is a legend.... after that when I saw the trailers for WW and TP I thought they both looked rubbish....

I read an article where it says that Midna will be back on the sequel of Twilight Princess... And kokiri kids will appear again. I really liked the style of link in Twilight Princess, when they introduced link wearing mail/armor under his shirt and tunic. but In my idea of the game u can go to towns and a city to buy armor and weapons like swords and a bow and arrow but keep the master sword the best sword in the game obviously, like u have to use the master sword to kill off "HARDER" Bosses in dungeons. And u can travel to other areas in the game then just Hyrule, by going on a ship or some kind of flying device
I think the next Zelda should take place ofter Oot, but with better graphics and a bigger environment to roam around in. (maybe even another area to explore then just in Hyrule) and have puzzles u have to complete to open dungeons that have been closed shut for hundreds of years. I know most zelda games u have to complete a puzzle to open or find a dungeon, but have it that u have to find items, objects, from side quests, then just trying to find a hidden button to push to open a dungeon
i have an idea, a new villian: nightmare, who wants to conquest the land using the nightmares and dreams of the people, creating monsters based in nightmares and he atacks link using his dreams and nightmares of Midna, Ganondorf, Dark Link, etc.
they should make bosses be more worth fighting cuz they were ridiculously easy in twilight princess, they have to make bosses real super hard to actually be called a boss!

main villians for the next game should obviously include Vaati, his first 3D debut. Plus he is the coolest end game boss in my opinion. It would be a little repetitive if they put gannondorf in the next one. Also, there could be a boss sequence that has about 30 dark links all trying to kill you, but you have a greater weapon than they do.(in OOT, megaton hammer) They could try to fit gannondorf into the story, buti hope that they dont make him the last boss. A traitor to Hyrule would be cool.
i think the next zelda game for the wii should be the storyline after Link saved clock town from skull kid and should tell the story about Oni Link and how he came to be, and the game should be called "The Legend Of Zelda Secrets of the Fierce Deitys Mask, or Secrets of Oni"
i think the next game should have link block with both sword and shield and make the fighting realistic that would mean blocking with sword should look like assasins creed or red steel but should still have a third person view
Personally (as a OOT fanboy ^_^) they should continue from where Majora's mask left of, at least continue the story. And bring back the old fashion storylines of N64 that stole our hearts (not like the wind wakeror twilight princess, no offense) Im not inciting to bring back and continuing the old story but to make a new one, with young link and adult link of course, maeby basing some ideas of the OoT manga and the M'sM manga too ^_^
OH! and how about bringing back the old multiplayer formula from Four swords! or maeby playing as Link's shadow, Dark Link, in some parts, like the four swords manga!!! ^_^
after thinking about my previous idea i made a new one :) It turns out that ganon was given commands by someone higher than him and ganon starts to disagree so joins link on his team and the two ( possibly with zelda ) take on this leader at the gerudo desert. the leader could be zeldas father...( just a thought ) and the 2/3 try to bring him back to the light, with the power of each part of the triforce. ganon then stays on the good side but it could be classed as the last zelda game... :( NOO!

Your idea is really good, but don't you think Link is sorta... well you know, a lone soldier. He sort of goes off to save Hyrule, Termina, Labrynna, or whatever on his own (or with Navi or Midna by his side)
Well, personally... I'm kinda tired of the same formula of playing always on temples, I mean, is really great, you know. But a very new Legend of Zelda won't be so bad, another formula. They should always put temples, but more complex and making people to help Link. And after the temples, force us to do something else than looking for another temple to go to, like save somebody or something like that, in short words.. Like The Lord of the Rings.
they did that in "ocarina of time". when you don with a temple you had do play for a long time looking and trying to fix something before you could enter the next temple. and "Ocarina" had a bunch of minigames.
I still like the idea of a war in the game, maybe not making Link a general, but to follow one.. And while playing, Link will be a "freelancer" on the war. While all soldiers are fighting, Link (us playing) has to go somewhere else to put some traps to the enemies or attacking with his bow in a tower, a complete freelancer..:D

However, the music and sound is still good even to this day, and many people use it and still listen to the OST.
Usually graphics dont matter. Music and gameplay does.

Some further suggestions to what You have...The dungeons must be more extensive and like an individual world onto itself..for Mini bosses,subbosses return later and again..then fight the Real Boss of that dungeon as that story progresses...and that's only that dungeon from 1 town/village...
Have a new enemy besides, Ganon+Vaati..a new Gerudo/Female enemy...also give Link a rival..to challenge his positions as the savior of Hyrule... Create more towns...Give characters depth and More S.quests

okay i do agree with wee2777, But please people do not ruin zelda with two player or a war type thing. zelda is good where its at and i would have to go with ingriibelli I have created my own video on this and i really don't think they should make it a two player. yes the four sword adventures were fun, but not for these kind of zelda's they wouldn't be able to focus on the story line which made zelda a great game.

Im pretty sure we can all safely guess what the new zelda game is going to be about based on the poster Miyamoto has released.(Well i can anyway, its fairly easy.) In the poster, the figure standing in front of link could be a fairy from previous zelda games, but my bet is thats its a incarnation of the master sword seeing as how link isnt wearing it, and the figure has all of the symbols and markings the master sword has.

they should add more characters to play with and open the door for the assistance of a second player wether in the form of another character or like, in mario galaxy, letting the second player help in the adventure too at least. I hope they will take adventage of the Wii new motion sensor, and yes, I like the Idea of a team, or little army guided by link, sounds great
but really the problem of not sharing the adventiure with someone else is a big debt

That sounds kinda cooperative mode in The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King... And in zelda is impossible, 'cause Link is the main and the only character that we use... Your idea is good, but I don't like to think that a -second Link- appears from the nothing with a red tunic to help on the adventure... That will affect the storlyline, you know... But Nintendo should make something like "The Legend of Zelda: Hyrulian Battles" and let two players play against foes in different stages..xD

I think in this new Zelda we will have to share the adventure (once again) with that girl in the new concept art, have you seen it? The girl that is "supposed to be the Master Sword"... I got the feeling that she will be like Elika in the Prince of Persia 4, that she helps you in the quest and most of the battles in the game. And remember, we have shared the past zelda's adventures:

MM: Tatl
Wind Waker: Tetra (few times with that magic stone)
TP: Midna
PH: Ciela

i think the masks and the ocarina of time should return...and they should make a mask that disguises you as an enemy of your choice..and the enemies would think of you as one of them when you have the disguise, but if an enemy sees you put it on, they will know its link....

i don't want anything twilight princess in a new zelda. honestly, i feel it was not the best zelda and it didn't live up to the hype...it was dragged out, boring at times, and the ending was pure crap. it wasn't even re-playable to me. and what's with making stuff "dark" and "mature"...just make a good game got yammit.

I hope they improve the graphics. TP was fun but it was only an updated GameCube game. I want one that is built for the Wii from ground up. Hopefully using the new motion control setup they had at the E3 conference.

No, he made it out. Remember how at the end the woods changed and he was back where he was at the very beginning of the game. Pretty sure he just went back to Hyrule and settled down quietly. Probably married Malon eventually.

Im always nervous about new zelda games.. as the first one I played was OOT which is a legend.... after that when I saw the trailers for WW and TP I thought they both looked rubbish....
But suprisingly I liked them both.. Just hope the new one can love up to OOT !! :)

But they said that there will be a sequal to TP because Colin had a sword and shiled they also said that more evil is rising and the Link from TP is to old to fight it so he asks Colin if he could take over for him and he said yes and thats were "The Legend of Zelda Land of the flooded" takes place.

I read an article where it says that Midna will be back on the sequel of Twilight Princess... And kokiri kids will appear again. The places will be almost the same as Twilight Princess, but more bigger and more towns to visit. I don't know if it is true, but the kokiri thing will be cool if those kids appear again...xD

I really liked the style of link in Twilight Princess, when they introduced link wearing mail/armor under his shirt and tunic. but In my idea of the game u can go to towns and a city to buy armor and weapons like swords and a bow and arrow but keep the master sword the best sword in the game obviously, like u have to use the master sword to kill off "HARDER" Bosses in dungeons. And u can travel to other areas in the game then just Hyrule, by going on a ship or some kind of flying device

I think the next Zelda should take place ofter Oot, but with better graphics and a bigger environment to roam around in. (maybe even another area to explore then just in Hyrule) and have puzzles u have to complete to open dungeons that have been closed shut for hundreds of years. I know most zelda games u have to complete a puzzle to open or find a dungeon, but have it that u have to find items, objects, from side quests, then just trying to find a hidden button to push to open a dungeon

main villians for the next game should obviously include Vaati, his first 3D debut. Plus he is the coolest end game boss in my opinion. It would be a little repetitive if they put gannondorf in the next one. Also, there could be a boss sequence that has about 30 dark links all trying to kill you, but you have a greater weapon than they do.(in OOT, megaton hammer) They could try to fit gannondorf into the story, buti hope that they dont make him the last boss. A traitor to Hyrule would be cool.

Personally (as a OOT fanboy ^_^) they should continue from where Majora's mask left of, at least continue the story. And bring back the old fashion storylines of N64 that stole our hearts (not like the wind wakeror twilight princess, no offense) Im not inciting to bring back and continuing the old story but to make a new one, with young link and adult link of course, maeby basing some ideas of the OoT manga and the M'sM manga too ^_^

after thinking about my previous idea i made a new one :) It turns out that ganon was given commands by someone higher than him and ganon starts to disagree so joins link on his team and the two ( possibly with zelda ) take on this leader at the gerudo desert. the leader could be zeldas father...( just a thought ) and the 2/3 try to bring him back to the light, with the power of each part of the triforce. ganon then stays on the good side but it could be classed as the last zelda game... :( NOO!

Your idea is really good, but don't you think Link is sorta... well you know, a lone soldier. He sort of goes off to save Hyrule, Termina, Labrynna, or whatever on his own (or with Navi or Midna by his side)

Well, personally... I'm kinda tired of the same formula of playing always on temples, I mean, is really great, you know. But a very new Legend of Zelda won't be so bad, another formula. They should always put temples, but more complex and making people to help Link. And after the temples, force us to do something else than looking for another temple to go to, like save somebody or something like that, in short words.. Like The Lord of the Rings.

they did that in "ocarina of time". when you don with a temple you had do play for a long time looking and trying to fix something before you could enter the next temple. and "Ocarina" had a bunch of minigames.

I still like the idea of a war in the game, maybe not making Link a general, but to follow one.. And while playing, Link will be a "freelancer" on the war. While all soldiers are fighting, Link (us playing) has to go somewhere else to put some traps to the enemies or attacking with his bow in a tower, a complete freelancer..:D
