you can't deny that as the style has developed and evolved they filled up most of the room they left for improvement.

take the classic green hill music, now compare it to say... well, just about anything from modern sonic games.

what i was saying is that the quality of gameplay and music were once tied in my book, but where one excelled the other sharply fell.

@wererat2000 I don't think it's necessarily improved either. classic sonic music holds up incredibly well, and I don't think most of the recent Sonic music is an improvement over any of Masato Nakamura's or Naofumi Hataya's classic work, even if it is all fantastic. aside from this song in particular Sonic Free Riders' soundtrack was actually pretty garbage, come to think of it.

Yeah it doesn't have the original feel (or is it spirit?) that the Madin version brought, but the Crush 40 version is its own animal! The additional lines give it that Crush 40 feel and the electronica section does hark back to the Madin version.
