great video tutorial. was wondering when you showed your audio input, did that say Lexicon Alpha? if so, is that a audio interface box? does it have XLR as well as 1/4" ? is there software you had to install to be able to use that? also, what was the mic you were using? and do you have any recommendations for a wireless-lapel mic?
I use camtwist, with this you can "lock" the video capture on a windows, so you can drag other windows over the live video without having them in the emulated webcam.
@allystylesmuch I'm not very familiar with Nikon but it looks like Camera Control Pro 2 or something similar should do the job. Anything that works in a similar way to EOS Utility.
Will a Battalion 101 X7200 laptop and a Samson C01U cooperate with my Canon Rebel T3i? All of these are pretty new and I'm not sure they'll go together as your Canon Rebel EOS 60D and your Mac OS X. Either do that, or buy a laptop with a built in mic and webcam.
I'm not sure if someone else already mentioned this or not, or if you've figured it out by now or not, but Manycam does allow you to remove the Watermark. It's in the Effects->Text Over Video - > Then Uncheck the box that says Show Manycam.com Logo.
@Xeophane I had my camera set to 24. I'm not sure what ManyCam is capable of, but as long as your system can handle it, it should be smooth. The reason there's a delay when you see me on screen is because I'm running EOS Utility, Soundbooth, another screen capture app to record the desktop, skype, ect. I have used it with skype and it works great
@ajbarron71 As far as I know, EOS utility doesn't support audio. You could use a video screen capture app and run the audio separately through USB or and audio interface. I recommend Screenflow, which is what I recorded my desktop with in this video.
@jarlaxle Not that I know of but that is definitely something worth looking in to. But at the same time, it's not uncommon for a regular video shoot with your DSLR to last more than a few hours
@rafidiisme There actually is a way to turn off the watermark with ManyCam that was pointed out to me after I posted the video, but Camtwist works just as well. Thanks
Hey man awesome video. Quick question. I dont know why my Skype wont give me any more options other than "iSight" from my mac desktop under audio/video options. I tried this with Camtasia as well as Manycam.I got everything else worked out with my T2i , Just dont know what to do now. Please tell me what im doing wrong. thanks bro

If you want to use this for skype, skype already has this method built into it "screen view" and you can crop the view the same.

You can disable Manycam's watermark by going on "Effects" -> "Text over video" and disable the box that says show manycam watermark

I've figured out the best way to get the box to go away during live view. Switch it to face detection instead and it'll disappear.

@GemTraffic you can turn off the watermark in Manycam, you just have to go into the effects options and deselect the show manycam logo option.
