  • Does anybody remember Herman's Hermits doing a "A Hard Day's Night"-type movie? It was called "Hold On" and I'd love to see it again. Probably pure corn, but as a little kid, I was mesmerized....and seeing the band again in 2011, I realize what great musicians/entertainers they were. Peter N. still looks great to this day, while others are half-dead looking or completely dead....

  • I have always LOVED British Rock. (Not that there isn't plenty of good sounds on the other side of the Atlantic!) There is a simple yet polished quality to English music that makes it stay with you!

  • Love the opening for Manfred Mann -- pretty cool album cover!

  • MANFRED MANN'S PERFORMANCE IS GREAT!

  • Simply marvelous--for an oxymoron. This is undiluted garage rock whose closest approximation comes in the form of some great dance music.

  • O: Herman's Hermits!!!!!<3

  • SUPERB!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Honeycombs singing "Have I The Right"--all right!!

  • I dont see how a video on the British Invasion can include the Honeycombs... they didnt have a single hit in the US !

  • @rowtenben "Have I The Right" WAS their hit. My friends & I LOVED this song, so even if you didn't know it or care for it, a bunch of us did--that's why The Honeycombs were included!

  • @CriticalListener Dont misunderstand me... I loved Have I the right to !!!... a bit like Glad all Over... a nice happy song !!

  • now this brings back memories....Look no real equipment....but it still goes!

  • Hail Britannia! Why didn't we stay a colony? Would have been better off.

  • The Honeycombes kit is all British,.Burns guitars and Carlton drums.

  • The Honeycombes' song was recorded at producer Joe Meek's flat over a leather goods shop in Holloway Road, north London. Joe was a creative electronic sound engineer and had total control in his flat, so that is where the recording were done when he set up his own company.

When mixing after the recording, Joe did the bass drum by having a microphone in the bathroom because of the echo, and thumping a broom handle on the floor. Honey Lantree didn't drum that bit.

  • Best female drummer since Karen Carpenter, both much better then most groups drummers, what became of her,she really could play those skins

  • 0:32 Lady drummer preparing for take off, flap them lass.

  • theres something to be about a song that you can sing along to,especially when the singer asks you to

  • step right up ladies and gentleman, the honeycomb horror show

  • I've always loved those awesome microphones.

  • Perfection by Joe Meek. Ons of the standards of british pops ongs

  • Is it me or the lead singer looks a bit like a young Abraham Lincoln? Just google the photo when Abe was young and you tell me, lol.

  • I love the old commercials!

  • I think thats neat..Thanks for the info

  • they dressed for the show...lady gaga does now

everyone wants to look sharp and play sharper

    forgive the 60's

  • that lady was great...I've had her in my head for 40 years

  • good lady drummer...she rocks

  • @strat8383 That would be Ms. Honey Lantree! Her brother is playing the Bass guitar in this.

  • @strat8383 - You are talking about the wonderful, sexy, Honey Lantree, someone I admire - a groundbreaker. This song was #1 in Canada, USA and the UK. The producer was the weird, wacky (and long dead) Joe Meek (also did TelStar - using a flushing toilet played backwards to mimic outer space sounds...LOL!) Anyway, Honey was a hairdresser's assistant, but somehow found time to develop her drumming. One of a few female rock drummers (Cindy Blackman is another).

  • LOL is this band serious?!

  • So nice how everyone wore suits back then...Classy even for rockers

  • is that a woman drummer?

  • Yep! her name was & is Honey lantree.

  • he name is Honey Lantree, a pioneer for women percussionist

  • You don't need to drink milk for vitality-all the music on this clip will provide that.

  • You can't sit down to this song! Love those guitar chords, and the stamping sound. Also, it was very rare at that time to see a woman drummer

  • Later the Herman Hermits composed "No Milk Today" - they were missing shindig perhaps? LOL!

  • Herman Hermits sang "No Milk Today" Graham Goldman composed "No Milk Today" as well as "Bus Stop" for The Hollies and many other FAB songs of that era, do a Goggle search.

    Peace & Love 2U

    RS45

  • No, Graham Gouldman of 10CC

    wrote "No Milk Today".

In those days he was with The Mindbenders.

  • why, thank you! "I'm Not in Love" 10CC? Live and learn...

  • is it just me or does the lead singer of Herman's Hermits look a little like Bobby Kennedy

  • yea but with out the bullet in the chest

  • Yes, I always thought so.

  • Now that you mentioned it, I see it very clearly. Can't believe I never noticed thist myself.
