  • Hey Hong Konger here. Why are you speaking English?

  • Nice shooting.

  • Damn Kai, you are so cute!

  • @DistortedVision Kai, you have been CUTEZONED

  • Watched all your reviews this evening, Kai. Really nice work, love it!

  • oh my goodness - a person in a wheel chair, out in hk. i've visited hk over 20 times and never seen anyone out in a wheelchair before. hk must me one of the least handicap friendly cities in the world...

  • @alannug you gives a fuck

  • @alannug who gives a fuck

  • Too bad we Swedes simply can't be social or get close to strangers in our not so crowded streets or other public spaces. I typical Swede sits himself/herself on the other end from a person on the buss, especially if there's only one passenger in there when entering.

  • snake bit was funny as hell!

  • 6:14 - 6:33 best part

  • 6:14 - 6:33 best part

  • flickr.com/photos/richard_martin/6109243511/in/photostream

  • @risofsmailnet im scared people will steal my images on that site.

  • where were you at 4 min thank

  • 8:12 Awesome, good shoot, Really beautiful shoot!

  • "Sometimes its important to take your shot as discretly as possible."

Yeah, me and my Nikon D700 => !!!KLACK KLACK KLACK!!!

  • grand dad looking for porn……

  • mgs reference ftw.

  • Man! you look so funny Kai. I like to watch your youtube videos

  • Oh at last! this vid has finally returned to what they use to be informative and funny! I was really getting bored because sometimes they just talk too much without fun or info, but this one is awesome!

  • Really love the Allamby moments of this vid

  • the nikon L120 or the nikon J1 10-30mm

  • @overcklockangel7 Idk what they like so much about the J1, I tried it at the store the other day and it was very difficult for me to find out how to change any settings.. the lenses are very nice though.

Still, not tack-sharp and there is a bit of noise, a lot more than my D5100 has at high ISOs

  • My favourite street photographer Bruce Gilden breaks all of these rules!

  • I really did laugh out loud several times at this vid. Love your work!

  • that midget is levetating!!

  • Thanks for the Do's and Dont's!

But this couldn't be used everywhere.

For example in Germany you have to have the permission of the Person which you take a photo of because of it' personal rights.

If a grounp of more than 20 people in that picture than it is seen as "public" and you do not need a permission from ervery body. Also if the person is not identificable e.g. if only the feets of the back is shown at the photo, than you do not neet a permission too.

So Street Photography is not easy.

  • i don't know why but when I see Kai, Austin Powers comes to my mind

  • The ice cream!!!! NO!!!!

  • how many people stared at kai at 6:32 :D

  • everyone was looking at kai when he ran across the street. they were like" what's worng with this dude??"

    lol.

  • The guy at 0:55 hates you.

  • nice job :)

actually.. in my country "Kuwait" we have to ask them first. Cuz our religion and our customs and traditions urge us to respect the privacy of others.

here some will say "no" and some will say "yppp its okyy :D"

    wish you all the best

    peace :)

  • if i took photos of people in sydney. id get sued ...

  • In Japan, people are generally shy or held back towards strangers. Bu when you do build up the courage to go and ask someone if it's ok to take picture, in your very best Japanese of course, you always get a friendly answer. If no, then respect it. If yes, it's your ticket to take your time with it.

Note that in Japan, something known as "hidden photography" is forbidden by law, and punishable by jailtime. So make sure you are visibly taking a picture. And also, of course, respect the signs.

  • Street Pornography Do's and Don'ts

  • I probably can't do street photography, I took 1789 shots in three days after getting my Nikon D3100, WITH restraining myself from taking more xD

  • Hahah i really loved the Metal Gear Solid reference ;) Golden coolness yay!

  • guns dont kill people rappers do

  • LMAO 9:18 the old man !!!!!!

  • I just got a black rapid RS7 strap and it means I can have my camera almost hidden away at my waist. I have my hand on it but it's inconspicous - I see a shot and bam it comes up - it's really helped my street photography.

What is the music playing in this Kai - it's really nice

  • Street Photography !!! :).......... Love it! If only I had the confidence to lift a camera in front of a stranger's face. Scary........

  • Hey! 10.08 is a pretty interesting shot! :D

  • He looks like a chinese Michael Jackson with that hairstyle.

  • @jan1761 See, you stupid cunt. hahahahaha!

  • Street Photography can be quite hard in the UK. In a lot of towns and cities you'll get punched in the face even if you have taken the advice you've given. It's a shame. Any further advice?

  • @Ziplock9000 YA DONT TAKE PICTURES IF YOUR GONNA GET SMACK

  • @jan1761 Thanks, that is a really helpful comment. I guess you had no schooling? /sigh

  • @Ziplock9000 i have all the schooling i need to know that if you get smack for doing something your not suppose to the word DO NOT DO IT rings? lol!!! duh?

  • @jan1761 I live in a free country bud, so 'doing something your not suppose' is not relevant. I was asking about the inter-social aspects and asking for constructive tips rather than just trash talk.

  • @Ziplock9000 SEE you got it all wrong FREE country donot mean take advantage of your mankind because its free so what you really mean is you got CONTROL issues and you want the world to spin around you :). maybe just maybe you should grow up before you take pictures? i mean take wisdom before academics then maybe just maybe you might just understand what education really means. dummy!

  • @jan1761 You do know by law you can take photo's in public places in a free country? This is not a point of debate, control, world spinning around me, juat a basic freedom and libity. None of which has anything to do with my original post. /sigh

  • @Ziplock9000 meh im done with you, you are just going round and round and not making sense on your comment, face it dont take photo if you dont want to get smack. freedom cost. especially with dummys like you who think education will get you out of getting smack lol!!

  • @jan1761 Yes it is best you go, as you still do not understand my original question. I asked for tips regarding approaching subjects the way he does in the video, and the contrast to the UK and how that is hard. 'You getting smack', 'freedom cost' just make you sound silly and either juvinile or of low IQ.

  • @Ziplock9000 your welcome :) i hope all your education will make you understand that when people say no dont take pictures it means no. that way you wont get smack. just saying no education is needed for that just plain common sense is :) duh?

  • @jan1761 When did I say that people are saying NO to being photographed? You didn't read what i said correctly did you.. admit it, you didn't and just went on a trolling rant.

  • @Ziplock9000 i love it!!why do people use the word TROLLING when they get desperate for last ditch effort to justify in their comment? it is so played out!!! admit it i saw right thru your first comment did not mean you get smack because your taking their photos? is that what you are saying now? hahahaha!! you need more than education to save your skin on this one. sorry try again. a

  • @jan1761 oh i get it ! you want the world to spin around you. lol!! NOT!!!

  • NOT ALLOWED IN THE UK.

You are AUTOMAICALLY A TERRORIST, (to get Government stats up)

  • lol im in love with Alamby!!!!!!!

  • but tyere are some dos and donts... to keep into mind.......before you start .. street photography

  • @jvgeli I'm even scared as hell to try bringing my phone out in equivalent places like Divisoria or Hidalgo. I only strap my dlsr on my neck when I'm within a group of friends...that's at least safer than shooting around alone.

  • The people in HK are very nice... If you walk by the streets with a D7000 in Brazil, you won`t get home with it. Probably.

  • @ODoutorX Totally. I'm from Rio and I can't even try out street photography on the streets.

  • @ODoutorX And that makes me very sad!

  • @ODoutorX Its a d700 ;))

  • @ODoutorX People in HK are not nice. The places I visited are filled with assholes.

  • 9:35 Look around and you'll always find something interesting going on *zooms in on midget pushing a cart*

  • fucking... 3:26 onwards is sooooooo funny...

  • haha i thought it was illegal to take photos of people without consent o-o;

  • @JerryPaullll depends where you live. In the US, you can take pictures of people in public all day long and they cant stop you. (you "may" need a model release to be able to do anything with those photos) However, you can't take pictures from outside, looking into someones bedroom window for example.

  • @Virgo17th No not in public. You don't need any model release. Imagine if you have 10 people in the frame. It's impossible.

  • @JerryPaullll Not in a public place though. Now in some cultures like in the Middle East it's taboo to take pictures of ladies in abaya without their consent or the consent of their husbands or father. You can however include them in the picture with a landmark backdrop or something but not straight shoot at them.

  • Oi Kai. Get a haircut!

  • Nice ! Solid Snake BOX !LOL !

  • Great Video! I thought I would share my street photography horror story. I was shooting with a 50 on a Canon F1 in Savanna Georgia and I saw a saxophonist playing for tips and I got down on my knees to get a cool angle of him, and then he stopped playing and he said something like "Kid I don't want my picture taken, beat it" and then I was pretty scared, I'm pretty sure he yelled at me across the street too! And that was my first time so I am pretty weary, hopefully this video will help me!

  • 43 People hunted people down with a camera...

  • fantastic video!

  • 08:35

    SNAKE?

  • what about people trying to steal your camera? what to do?

  • @10:33 ..... LOL

  • My side here in singapore are very neutral, u go some places like chinatown. Majority of the people there are friendly or camera shy when walking to some busy market.

  • No snow ? :D

  • Your voice-overs kind of blow my speakers up.

  • i prefer 28mm. don't even need to focus @ F8. focus 5ft and you are sharp from 2.5-10ft, focus at 10ft sharp from 5 to 15ft. at 10ft you have a person full height, at 5ft 1/2 length.

  • Kai i have a question. why you take pictures of old people?

  • @optimusdl Probably because they are easy targets, and they are nicer, and they care less

  • Don't mess with Alamby!

By the way, why are there two holes in the box when you have an eye patch? Is one hole for the camera lens, and the other for one of your eyes? Mysteries...

  • DO shoot people with your camera. DON'T shoot people with gun.

  • @TheMightyMagic wait you're joking right? ahh crap

  • @imBoreddd247 thank you.

  • Alamby, you are one amazing actress!

  • @ 10:09 amazingly creative framing/comp. kudos.

  • Nice Freitag bag Kai!

  • LOL 4:02 "He missed him"

  • The hairrrrrr

  • miss perfect situation in background : 02:15

  • why won't this play properly.... ?? it keeps stalling out.... what the heck?!?!

  • @CurlyCorry youtube has been glitchy lately. the player characteristics changes so frequently (when i go fullscreen, sometimes it auto switches to 720p, sometimes it stays at 480p (i prefer the latter)) and I used to be able to stream 480p just fine, but now it stalls and glitches sometimes. YOUTUBE GET YOUR S TOGETHER.

  • What brand of bag as Kai got on? I always see it in his videos but can never make out the brand name.

  • Did you guys used a different focal length than usual? The video feels more... film-ish

  • "Somebody's grandad looking at porn there." wow I wasn't expecting that

  • 6:30 AHAHAHHAHAHA

  • Oy kai! Get a haircut!

  • I'm new to photography so can soemone tell me what that 1/400 or 1/500 number in the bottom right is...? thank you

  • @WeirdPianoGuy There are three values you need to consider when taking a photo.

The number you're saying is the time the shutter is open, like 1/400th of a second; i.e. how long you want light to hit the film (or the digital sensor). The other value (for example, 5.6) is the aperture, which works kinda like the human eye. The larger the aperture (which means the smaller the number, remember), the more light will pass; so, the shorter you'll have to keep the shutter open.

  • @WeirdPianoGuy Also, the larger the aperture, the blurrier the background will be. The final number (for example, 200) is the ISO value, which basically is how fast your film or sensor will absorb light. If you set an higher iso value, you can lower the aperture and keep the same shutter speed, or vice versa. Keep in mind, though, that in digital photography, higher iso means grainier images (noise), which can be annoying. the basic advice is, only set higher iso if there is not enough light.

  • @LTheFirst ok ty i figured that what i was searching for was the shutter...

  • I'm 14 yrs old and when i go venturing the streets with my camera, people stare at me ( because I'm carrying a DSLR and to them I'm a rich kid, which I'm not)so much as if they want to grab my camera and it kinda feels unsafe. Basically, my dilema is not that people think i'm a paedofile, they think I'm a rich kid.

  • @ww22able Then dress yourself so you look like a pedophile - problem solved !!

  • @ww22able definitely worth putting black tape over any obvious logos like "Nikon" etc as that shouts "steal me" - also ditch the loud strap with the logo and use something discreet like a blackrapid

  • NIkon SP review please

  • I'm too scared that someone will get mad and start to grill me and shit. I prefer the studio, or things that are dead.

  • this video is so full of shit! get a camera, walk around and take photo anything else is WELL? bullshit

  • @jan1761 Then you are looking at shit! You shit hahaha

  • @jan1761 What is BS about this? Street Photography has been around since the 1920's popularized by Henri Cartier-Bresson. There is nothing illegal about taking pictures of people in the public. Check any magazines with people shot in public. Let me ask you this? Do you even take photos? I guess you are new to photography to know what this video is about.

  • @BahGolfer lol! listen fudge packer im not new to photography. and i didnt say anyting about taking photo's of people being illegal. i do not know what you read lol!! but is this your first time reading? hahaha!!

  • @jan1761 As usual another ignorant reply from an illiterate person whose vocabulary ranges from shit, fudge pucker and anything that you can use to substitute the english word for a lack of a better word. Your level of education and IQ is evident in your post. Low and slow.......

  • @BahGolfer umm.. what are you crying about fudge packer?

  • Nice vertical grip noob.

  • you miss all the fun when you think in photographs

  • It took me a while to realize how important aperture priority really is

  • Good job, I liked the last picture with the mirror

  • Kai nearly knocked into someone when he stretched his hand!

  • Why are all the photos in black and white? There's only so much black/white effects you can do before people begin realizing you're trying too hard to make the photo interesting.

  • @RBIVscreamtherequiem it's because sometimes the colours aren't compatible, or they are tad too dull. Well for me, i like doing street photog in B&W so that i can focus on the subject but that's just me. :)

  • lol, during my trip to hk to visit cousins, ive made it my goal to take a pic of EVERY SINGLE mc-donalds i see. (if you've been there you'd know how many of those goddamn thingsvthere are)

  • what lens is he using?

  • @andrewmai123 Nikkor 50mm f/1.8

  • The people in HK are very nice ... If I take a picture here in Europe of someone I don't know, he or she will probably get mad at me ...

  • @funniq I've done loads of Street photography in Europe.. Don't worry somehow all people believe that exactly where they live people generally will get mad at you if you photograph them. This, However isn't true. Just go out and shoot! Don't worry 99 times out of a hundred people just really don't care :)!

  • @funniq iF I take pictures in this pukeshit country I live everything evreybody whatevaa will get mad at me against me. . and consider the vandalism to steal or kill you.
