@djkmann Im from canada and ive been looking in on buying one of these thing for a bout a week. but i was wonderin what website i could buy one of these off because i dont think io can buy one at my local music stop. any advise ?
hey i was wondering if you could help me out so i can make a beat like so i can keep adding instruments on the roland mv 8800 after i made like the claps snares and stuff and like add brass strings synths etc i dont have the roland mv 8800 yet but will be getting it asap also like the video thanks jay
Sorry for the double comment but I would like to suggest you move either the turntable or the speaker that's next to it. The needle can pick up what the speaker throws out. Try putting the cover on and tapping it, you will see what I mean
Takes me bout an hour to crank out a beat... Most of that time is spent sample digging and messing with soft-synth parameterss. But after that it takes me a week or 2 of editing and re-doing stuff to get it the way I want it. I can spend a 4-hour chunk of time just doing automation. So take your time! It is a process, not a competition.
@FelixB1234 I prefer the MV-8800. The MPC is solid as well, but the MV fits my workflow. I do alot of chopping and I can chop faster on the MV. I also use a lot of the effects on the MV.
@djkmann i agree, the mv has excellent workflow value and is probably the best for chopping quickly and moving throught the whole beat process....but the mpc kills it in timing, punchiness, sound, and overall sequencing. i just traded my mv 8800 for an mpc 4000. the 4000 is what i thought my 2000xl was supposed to be. that shit knocks foreal.
Nice job with changing the pitch with the strings! Inspiring as always haha
PS: I was wondering if you might be interested in doing a track together.. Idk if it will work because of the Time Zone differences or w/e but I hope we can at least try :)
Nice joint! Puttin' it down on the MV lovely! Looks like you're getting a hold on the basics pretty quickly on it. Some peeps say the curve is a little steep for them on the MV. Thing is though, it's gaining more popularity! I was pricing it the other day & I see where the MPC 5k is the same price.
Both right at $2000. So the MV is still holding its value for a new purchase. Again, stay up & keep us posted! * * * * *'s!
If you have experience with making beats you should be able to pick up on the MV fairly quickly...If this is your first crack at beat making then it will take a min to learn...Holla at me when you get your gear together so that I can peep your work...Oh btw I looked at the mpc 5000 and I think its a sick piece of equip too.
Mad talent bro..

How do u speed up a sample ounce it"s loaded in the MV
RICHboyMONTANA 2 years ago
Hit the pad you want to speed up, then hit the quick edit button and use tune to change the sample speed.

the time put in really pays off. anyone can hammer out a mediocre beat in a couple hours, this is fire though

how do I midi my keyboard to my mv so I can record what I'm playing on the keyboard directly into the mv
RICHboyMONTANA 2 years ago
just plug the midi out of keyboard/controller to in of mv. just make sure you give the device a number a-1 etc:

Ya the strings are a little spooky, they were a last min thing becasue the beat sounded so plain and I wanted to fill it up a bit.
Thanks for the comment.
