Statistics show that all Volkswagens will be hit by 'test' sleds at 50 mph. and not 18 wheelers on a slippery highway. perhaps the Bismarck will be raised from the depths, and redesigned with the same sheet metal as this new VW. Death camps, or VW's, the choice is yours. Yikes !
i was actually in a crash that was similiar to this i walked away from it but with severe whiplash and a head injury where i went down and hit the metal rod underneath the headrest
@ishiioutcasts I agree, I mean, it's not a Passat or a Tuareg, but for the previous generation, VW hired ex-Ford engineers who developed the famous Focus rear suspension. Then the MK5 rear suspension was almost identical to that found in the Focus, but now in the MK6 they put this kind of suspension on the Jetta.
You get this in a european Volkswagen. But it costs 25,000 and up. Americans are not willing to pay moderate prices for good cars. They want cheap, big cars. Have a look at what american automakers produce.

What the fuck is wrong with VW???
Solid rear axle in such expensive car???
Sure, it's pretty safe, but you'd like a little bit of technology when you expend money in that kind of car...

@themagicayrtonsenna its as expensive as a civic or corolla!
gadgetguy4000 3 months ago
@themagicayrtonsenna No, that's torsion beam. A kind of semi-independent suspension. But still not on par.

@themagicayrtonsenna the 2011 Jetta's base MSRP is $15,000. Thats hardly an expensive car by any means.
