  • I ride an S1000RR and love it. Wouldn't trade it for an F1 car for anything. Why? My bike is WAY to fast for me and most above average street riders. I doubt there are many riding these RR 999cc bikes that are being held back by the bike. Like Corser said you just dont feel as free in a car. ANY CAR. The bike is so much more fun to me. Leaning with the turns. Or coming up on a sharp looking corner and sticking your line solid, fast, and looking like a badass.lol.

  • I raced karts and F.Ford for 10 years. I also once drove an F3 and an F1 car. I've ridden street bikes 250cc 2 strokes and 750cc 4 stroke sportsbikes (which r not far off MotoGP bikes).

The F1 PULVERIZES all- you bike riders simply have no idea how brutally fast they are- im talking 50kph- 250kph in 4 seconds and then back to 50 in 2 seconds- and 5G cornering force that distorts your eyeballs!

My mate races bikes and cars and says bikes r best bang for buck, but cars r still the biggest bang!

  • @mallamoozoo

F1 is faster there's no question there mate.

Anyway, you need to go to a circuit for your thrills but I get mine on the way to work. Down a twisty road I'd be much quicker in my Caterham (CSR260 Superlight if ur wondering) than my Ducati Multistrada simply because I'm not Rossi. One could argue that I'd even feel a not dissimilar buzz but without the fear, but personally I like a bit of fear :D

  • @StigRossi yeah Caterham about the best car you can have for the street. i dont ride bikes on the streets anymore - a cuppla close shaves made me realize they belong on the track only. Funny how at 19 you dont think anything will ever go wrong and at 38 you feel like every corner is a potential deathtrap. Its a trade off - with experience comes understanding and technique - but the brashness of youth is hard to beat! optimum seems to be around 32.

  • @mallamoozoo Fair enough that u dont ride on the street anymore. Its hella cool that you have driven a Formula 3 car tho! How was the acceleration compared to those bikes you rode? I bet the cornering on that car was unbelievable

  • Looks like the F1 driver was much better on the bike than the bike rider was in the F1 car - no surprise - F1 is a much more brutal machine.

By the way there's a mistake in the description box - you accidently wrote "bike racing is more spectacular than F1" instead of the other way around as you should have LOL- HAHA yeah right- good one- 'super'bikes look the same as road bikes- but F1 cars look like jet fighters- much more rare and exotic- and F1 is about 50% faster than 'super'bikes LOL

  • @mallamoozoo Ur joking right about the F1 guy being better on the bike? In general its far far easier to go from 2w -> 4 than the other way round, and Valentino Rossi proves that point w/ his Ferrari F1 tests.

And yes Bike racing is more spectacular than F1, at least the F1 of a few seasons ago which is usually a parade, versus real RACING in MotoGP/WSBK

  • @StigRossi What? Rossi was SLOW in his F1 tests - 2 seconds off the pace - Rossi also races cars so its not like he just jumped onto 4 wheels for the first time - another rider who never raced cars would be 5 seconds off. So Rossi is an invalid example and you know it. Its like using Damon Hill as an example of how easy it is to go to bikes - because he used to race bikes before switching to cars.

Wayne Gardener couldn't even mix it in low level australian touring cars after 500cc bikes.

  • @mallamoozoo

Rossi was far better in his first F1 test than Schumacher was in his GSBK tests.

Clearly you don't ride bikes and haven't a clue.

Also, Rossi never raced cars b4 his first F1 test, he only did WRC and raced that Ferrari 430 WELL AFTER his F1 tests so you're just wrong.

I'll say this: being able to ride competitively and be even a backmarker is a LOT HARDER than driving cars, but finding those last few tenths to be #1 is perhaps equally hard whether car or bike.

  • @StigRossi Yes because Rossi indulges in 4 wheel racing as a side-hobby - mainly off-road but it still transfers to road racing cars. So he had an adbantage over any other bike rider who may have tried the same. And no he wouldnt have been a backmarker - 2 seconds off the pace is completely out of the ball park - hence he aborted his F1 hopes.

And Schui struggled in F1 this year too - so his lack of results in bikes dont mean bikes are harder - just that perhaps he is over the hill.

  • @mallamoozoo

    # of bike racers that raced cars even semi-successfully: tons.

    # of car racers that did the same w/ bikes: Schumacher.

    # of MotoGP champions that won an F1 ch-ship: 1 (Surtees).

    # of F1 winners that did the same: none.

Rossi would have been a backmarker in an F1 race, whereas Schumacher would have been KILLED if he went to WSBK or MotoGP (presumably part of the reason he came back to F1)

  • @StigRossi Surtees was in 50s and 60s - not at all the same sport it is today - hardly anyone was playing the game then - maybe a few hundred in the whole world - doesnt mean he was a sensational driver.

Anyway - 1 is not statistically any more significant than 0 (in mathematical science - statistical significance is so low its considered less than random chance - so not indicative of anything or any wider principle, such as "bikes are easier/harder than cars.))

  • Look I love both cars and bikes but clearly you have some weird and unfathomable hatred for bikes and I don't understand it.

  • @StigRossi Nope - I love them both too - i have a hatred for ignorant bike riders who pretend that its better than F1 simply because of sour grapes (ie you cant drive an F1 car). Ive driven an F1 car and it SHATTERS any superbike Ive been on (only street but they only a few % slower than MotoGP anyway)

  • @mallamoozoo Uv driven an F1 car? Really?

Anywayz look mate, I still think that MotoGP is more interesting to WATCH than F1 and thats all. That being said, i think that the spectacle and the background of F1 is absolutely amazing and I'd much rather be an F1 driver than a MotoGP rider. I think this silly fake rivalry ur playing up isn't going anywhere.

You've ridden a Suzuki GSXR750 from 1988 or something, I've ridden a BMW S1000RR that accelerates faster than a Bugatti Veyron. QUITE different

  • @StigRossi

5 Sovereign Kings were at the last F1 GP 3 days ago.

The biggest crowds are at F1 GP events.

The biggest TV audience by far at for F1 events.

Why? Because it is MUCH MORE SPECTACULAR - being MUCH faster (lapping a motoGP bike in 3 laps) and more dangerous (far more deaths in F1 than 500cc era racing) [Admittedly since mid 90's neither is particularly dangerous anymore but F1still more so (eg Webber's crash in Valencia). Even just 3 days ago Schumacher was almost decapitated.]

  • @mallamoozoo

    You have issues. Seek counselling.

    # of F1 drivers who currently have health issues: 0

    # of MotoGP riders: tons including the winner (Lorenzo), Rossi, Pedrosa, et al.

  • @StigRossi What u on about with "health issues"? Are u saying bikes are more dangerous? BS - 30 F1 drivers were KILLED! - that a big enough health issue for ya?

  • There is no rational basis for claiming bike racing is more real. (Presumably you have been fooled by the meaningless illusion that there is more passing? So what?- In fact- ITS THE LACK OF PASSING THAT PROVES IT IS MORE REAL!- Excessive passing is just an indicator that the machines are too easy to control- F1 doesn't have much passing because its almost fucking impossible to do so- requiring EXTREME skill. (Like soccer goals are REAL as they are difficult c/w australian football easy goals.)

  • You're just pissed because your mammy wouldn't let u have a bike when you were 17. Personally I like MotoGP but to me the most SPECTACULAR racing would be British Touring Car, WRC and above all the isle of man TT.

And i dont' understand your use of the word "real". Learn English mate.

  • @StigRossi Its YOU that used the word "real" incorrectly - im just highlighting your incorrect use of it by using it back on you - glad you can see ur error now.

And how is BTC spectacular? They are slow as snails! F1 is MUCH faster and thast what spectacular means - not rubbing body panels - who gives a fuck about that? Racing is a non-contact sport (ideally)
